Sexperts (+135)
The Grassholes (-200)
Over 6.5 (-145)
Under 6.5 (EVEN)
Notes: Green has a full roster in for this one while blue currently has six guys, two girls and Simon in goal but only on condition that he has to play without a shirt so his nipple chafe. Pretty gross situation for him and a tough situation for both teams in a game with some playoff implications. Green needs one regulation win in their two games tonight to pass camo. An OT win and a regulation loss wouldnt do it because, incredibly, even if the regulation loss was by just one this would likely become the first ever instance of playoff seeding coming all the way down to the fourth tiebreaker of head-to-head which belongs to Tropic Thunder. Meanwhile Sexperts have been plagued by poor attendance all season and need at least an OT win, if not regulation, to have a chance at top four seeding. Otherwise they’re locked in the 5-9 are which is also fine but necessitates one more matchup next Tuesday and in a season with more parity than ever (not to mention Chad likely being out), that could be big. I think green has to be favored here with a full roster showing up but don’t be surprised if there are fireworks. I’m taking the over, even as a defenseman. Lord help me.
Halloweenies (+1.5 Goals) (+140)
Sexperts (-1.5 Goals) (-200)
Over 6.5 (-120)
Under 6.5 (-120)
Notes: Both teams are badly shorthanded for this one and I’m not entirely sure who’s subbing for orange as no one has gotten back to me at press time. They’ll have a girl sub to be named later and likely Oskar’s nephew in this one but with Joe likely to be taking it somewhat easy with a possible playoff game later in the evening, I think it’s going to be a more laid back game than you would think. McCracken max bet himself to win the GAA title before the season and needs to give up only one here for that to cash. He’ll do his best to keep his team in it but the absences of Storer, Flynn and Branson are likely to be too much to overcome, plus public perception itself moves this line by quite a bit. Sexperts by two.
Flickin’ Bean (-145)
The Grassholes (EVEN)
Over 6.5 (-120)
Under 6.5 (-120)
Notes: Bean needs a regulation win to clinch 1st and a trip to the final four, much to Jenn’s chagrin. Green may need this game to clinch top four seeding but also may not depending on the result of their earlier matchup against the Sexperts. Ridzik gets the call in net again while pink hasn’t asked em for any subs so I have to assume they have a mostly full lineup as well. This one could really go either way and is probably the game of the night between a contender for 1st place and the team that held that slot for much of the season. Although green hasn’t quite looked the same since losing Corey to a knee injury a few weeks ago which hopefully isn’t season ending, I think I’m going against the grain and taking Grassholes to pull a mini-upset and come through for Jenn. 5-3 green.
Melrose Home (-1.0 Goals) (-160)
Halloweenies (+1.0 Goals) (+115)
Over 6.0 (-120)
Under 6.0 (-120)
Melrose Home (+140)
The Sharks (-200)
Over 6.0 (-120)
Under 6.0 (-120)
Notes: The play-in tournament this year is just one game: Melrose playing either orange or purple. Orange is, as mentioned earlier, badly shorthanded for this one and I’m still not sure exactly who’s showing up to the rink to play for them. Purple’s own lineup is kind of up in the air as I think Jack’s at a work happy hour or something and Neil is possibly out for the playoffs. It’s been a brutal overall season for purple with weird lineup issues and some crazy bad puck luck in last minute losses although Max, against all odds on a possible play-in team, somehow is currently in pole position for his first ever GAA title. It’s been a similarly brutal season for yellow but they have a chance for redemption in this one. The lineup appears to be mostly full from the attendance sheet but that’s also been the case a few times this season only to be upended by multiple last minute drops. I think if yellow plays orange, sans Storer Branson and Flynn, they should have enough to beat McCracken a few times and hang on for the win. If they play purple, the vibes mismatch is going to be way too much to overcome. Either way – with play-in games kicking off tonight, playoffs are (almost) finally here and will be in just a week’s time. Brackets to come once this game sorts out the final seedings. Gamblers rejoice. See ya tonight.
