Attack Of The Pie Pie (-1.0 Goals) (-120)
Show Bobs (+1.0 Goals) (-120)
Over 8.0 Goals (-145)
Under 8.0 Goals (EVEN)
Notes: This is destined to be a weird game because Zisser woke up sick and finding a goalie sub for this game proved to be extremely difficult. It was going to originally be Jacob Green wearing Zisser’s goalie gear which works out ok because they’re both similarly sized and Jewish (that’s important to the equipment) but some complications in getting the gear have blue goalie Tyler making his D5 debut in a sub game here. It’s tough to really get a handle on either of these teams, both looking for their first win of the season but only playing three combined games this far due to last week’s mass rainouts. Black had the #1 overall pick and has a lot of talent on the roster but need to shore up the defense behind Craig. Orange needs to hold an orientation session for all their new players and it seems like they’re all in tonight for a full four lines which is generally its own type of nightmare. Then again, with 87 degree temps forcasted for puck drop, that may not be the worst thing. Orange to win a tight one.
Merry Pranksters (+2.0 Goals) (-120)
Hootie & The Doug Fish (-2.0 Goals) (-120)
Over 7.5 Goals (-145)
Under 7.5 Goals (EVEN)
Notes: Pranksters requested this timeslot but apparently don’t have Maddy, Sonj or Satok which does kind of beg the question of why they requested this particular timeslot against the top team in the standings. Nonetheless, they will press on with Tyler, Jenna and a sub to be named later. Doug Fish meanwhile is missing Ken, Yaakov and Justin Sorice but they’re on such a roll, winning their first two games of the season by a combined score of 13-3 that it shouldn’t matter against a team that’s even more shorthanded than they are. That sub was originally slated to be Tony, making his first career sub appearance and receiving special dispensation to do so despite being Glatt’s 1st rounder, but he bailed on Gelman in a shocking move that will no doubt crush his chances of being invited to sub in the future or being nominated for any future league awards. You absolutely hate to see it. I won’t say it’s because of the Tony bail, but I have Doug Fish to roll by multiple goals in this one.
Pink Panthers (+2.0 Goals) (EVEN)
The Royal Sampler (-2.0 Goals) (-145)
Over 7.5 Goals (-145)
Under 7.5 Goals (EVEN)
Notes: Pink is hilariously missing Pete for this game because he planned a last minute trip to Indiana (wtf) despite saying he was in for this game, being basically Simon’s personal tandem sub all season and Yehuda switching into this date because he thought he’d have a strong lineup. Absences of Jason and Brooke also loom large for pink while purple has Oskar on holiday in Estonia but otherwise has most of their players in. Unless we see another Kate Hall legacy game with Sophia making multiple last minute highlight reel saves, I think this might be a long night for pink. At full strength I had this rated as slight edge to purple but with the absences, that edge is significantly bigger now. Sampler 6-3.
The Royal Sampler (-120)
Sexual Misconduct (-120)
Over 7.0 Goals (-120)
Under 7.0 Goals (-120)
Notes: This matchup similarly will be missing a good deal of firepower as Oskar remains out for purple while Chad is out for blue, at first with a trip to Vancouver but now with a possible emergency appendectomy looming (true story). I think the rosters are somewhat full otherwise and honestly im curious to see how this one goes as these look to be possibly the only two teams in the league that are looking to play any defense this season. Then again, considering each one is averaging 5 goals allowed per game, I guess there’s a big difference between looking to play defense and actually doing it. I have this game rated as a toss-up with the over/under line at a record low total of 7 goals which used to be the high line of the season just a few years ago.
Red Day (+2.0 Goals) (-120)
Double Teamed (-2.0 Goals) (-120)
Over 8.0 Goals (-120)
Under 8.0 Goals (-120)
Notes: The final game of the night. Apparently Tarnow and Campbell are still out for red but they will have the guy many are calling “the better Weaver Bro” in the lineup. And by many, I mean Nate himself. Tarnow’s technically on both teams but his absence definitely hurts red more as yellow can just roll his tandem partner Zuck and will be doing so in this one. I have no idea who’s in goal for them or what their lineups looking like but even with young Weaver, one of the sneaky best players in the league, it’s going to be very tough for them to win games without 2/3 of their front office. The heat is certainly a bit of an equalizer for both the players and the goalies, but I think in this matchup Tarnow’s doubleteaming himself. 7-4 for Team Eiffel Tower.
