Notes: As has been the case a few times this year the writeups have been held in order for me to figure out who the hell is playing in goal in one of the games and as of now no one has stepped up, forcing me to somehow release a betting line for a game with only one goalie as of now. I will do my duty but honestly have no idea how to handicap such a game. No totals or lines to be given until that’s sorted out. Probably the first time in many years I’ve had to shut off a line for a game entirely. DM me for a personal line if a goalie is eventually announced as Gelman is currently on the horn.

Notes: These two teams really need to stop giving up goals as each is giving up more than 7 per game, a truly insane mark. After that, the next worse defense is Glatt’s at 5.29 allowed per game, then another massive jump down to purple at 4.0. Needless to say, whichever team finds a way to stop the bleeding tonight is likely to get the win. Which team that is is tough to say because I haven’t seen much from either team to inspire any type of confidence in the defense but I suppose something’s gotta give. Personal prediction: 7-5 yellow, Craig with mixed feelings as he scores some points against his other team but probably not enough to actually win.

Notes: Possibly the marquee matchup of the evening if not the entire season, camo has pretty much rolled through the Summer with a 6-1 record, most goals scored, least goals allowed and +30 goal differential. That will be put to the test tonight as they face the 2nd place team in the standings with the top scorer in the league looking to set records for goals and points in a single D5 season. I’d say the motivation is higher for navy except that the Doug Fish leadership has been telling me every week they need to clinch a top two seed even though I keep telling them it would basically take a team-wide collapse at this point for that not to happen. I don’t see that collapse happening, but this game is very much up in the air particularly with Ken as a GTD. If he ultimately makes it I favor Doug Fish to win a narrow one with their superior overall depth. If he’s out, I think navy pulls the mini upset and potentially makes their own run at the top seed.

Notes: These teams met last week with orange notching a comeback from 2-0 down with a James OT snipe from the goal line capping it off. Of course, that game, as with all of blue’s games since week one, was played without Chad who’s making his return to the lineup tonight. With his friend/business partner/fellow savage Dave Nahon added to the roster in the league’s first in-season trade in years on Friday the Montreal boys should be extra motivated to kick off the playoff stretch run with a win against the red hot Jefferies boys in orange. Doug is subbing in net for Jeff Green and Shane is out for blue but otherwise both teams look to be mostly full. I think this game has the potential to be a close one as Pie Pie has been red hot in recent weeks, out scoring opponents 21-7 in their last 135 minutes of game action, but I do think with Chad back the streak ends here. Sexual Misconduct 5-2.

Notes: The final game of the night pits a classic showdown between two of the most successful teams of the past three years, although both are coming off down years and looking to rebound. Blue won four of six cups between Fall 2023 and Summer 2025 but for the first time last season did not make the final four. True, this was due to an absolutely superhuman performance by Carl which he replicated in the semis by taking out an undefeated and historically prolific orange team and then almost singlehandedly taking down an also undefeated Hockey At Glatt’s squad in the championship, but that’s hockey and the result was still a major disappointment to the franchise and its fans across New York, Miami, Nashville and wherever savages are found. Shake n Bake, which doesn’t have an official color designation since they have a different color scheme every season depending on what shirts Tommy has lying around at the Paddy Lee warehouse, had a banner 2024 in which they made three final fours, won a championship and finished #1 or 2 in the regular season every season. In 2025 they made a final four and championship appearance. But the past two seasons have seen them fail to qualify for the final four for the first two times in franchise history causing many to wonder if they can regain their past form. And with Ryan potentially having to go to Europe for part of the Fall season, this may be their last shot to win a cup for the foreseeable future (well, until next spring). With camo all but locking up the #1 seed with a win or two in their final three games, these teams are in the hunt for the #2 and a win here would go a long way. It’s a total tossup depending on who shows up last minute for either squad but in a high profile game with playoff stakes, even with the firepower on each side, give me the under. See ya tonight.
