White Walkers vs Layin’ Pipe
1st Period:
PIPE (1-0) – Dom (9) (assisted by Ryan Levine) (12:47)
2nd Period:
PIPE (2-0) – Ryan Levine (8) (assisted by Andrew) (1:50)
PIPE (3-0) – Dom (10) (assisted by Andrew) (8:29)
WWK (1-3) – Mike Milstein (2) (assisted by Adam Satok) (12:27)
3rd Period:
PIPE (4-1) – Dom (11) (assisted by Arthur Caer) (3:11)
PIPE (5-1) – Will Burchell (1) (assisted by Dom) (10:41)
PIPE (6-1) – Dom (12) (assisted by Murad) (12:33)
GAME NOTES: Pipe, wearing their alt blacks for this one, was only up two at the end of the second. But as the old saying goes – good teams win, great teams cover as they added three goals in the 3rd period to cover the 3.5 goal spread and take a 6-1 win over the Walkers.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Andrew (2A)
2nd – Ryan (1G, 1A)
1st – Dom (4G)
Ninja Turtles vs White Walkers

NJT (4-1) – Matt Leeb (4) (assisted by Justin Sherbal) (7:07)
NJT (5-1) – Ariel (2) (assisted by Luke) (10:00)
3rd Period:
NJT (6-1) – Luke (3) (assisted by Ariel) (3:20)
NJT (7-1) – Caleb (2) (SH) (assisted by Matt Leeb) (5:43)
NJT (8-1) – Luke (4) (assisted by Rockoff) (6:46)
NJT (9-1) – Justin Sherbal (2) (assisted by Matt Leeb) (9:46)
WWK (2-9) – Adam Satok (1) (PP) (assisted by Jeremy Schooler) (12:33)
GAME NOTES: This game was expected to be. bit closer as the Turtles were shorthanded and thus only had a 2.5 goal spread to cover. They handled that by the midway point of the 2nd and proceeded to pour on five more goals en route to a fairly surprising 9-2 blowout. Caleb scored what I believe was the first shorthanded goal of the season while Luke and Leeb had four points each. Turtle power indeed.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Caleb (2G)
2nd – Matt Leeb (1G, 3A)
1st – Luke (3G, 1A)

PRK (5-6) – Joel (2) (assisted by KG) (7:52)
PRK (6-6) – Sam Gelman (3) (assisted by KG) (6:16)
Shootout Winner By Pete
GAME NOTES: An absolutely wild game that featured a six goal first period, six goals per team and ended with Gelman whacking himself over the head six times for allowing Pete to sub. It was a gentlemanly move but one he may have regretted when Pete buried the shootout winner to send gold home with the victory. The sportsbook had this one rated as a total tossup which was absolutely correct with an over/under of 7 which was completely blown out of the water. Win some, lose some.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Tom White (2G)
2nd – Pete (G, SOW)
1st – Neil (1G, 3A)
UPS vs Ninja Turtles
1st Period:
NJT (1-0) – Luke (5) (assisted by Cherie) (7:47)
NJT (2-0) – Luke (6) (assisted by Caleb) (12:54)
2nd Period:
NJT (3-0) – Matt Leeb (5) (unassisted) (4:30)
UPS (1-3) – Cardello (1) (assisted by Will Carter) (9:03)
NJT (4-1) – Matt Leeb (6) (unassisted) (9:40)
3rd Period:
NJT (5-1) – Rockoff (1) (assisted by Julie) (5:21)
NJT (6-1) – Luke (7) (assisted by Rockoff) (6:00)
GAME NOTES: Another somewhat surprising result as green was favored to win this game, but only with an implied win probability of about 65%. Instead, they took a two goal lead into the first intermission and never looked back en route to a commanding 6-1 win that vaulted them to the top half of the standings, where they (spoiler alert!) would stay for the rest of the season.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Cardello (1G)
2nd – Matt Leeb (2G)
1st – Luke (3G)
The GoldMembers vs UPS
1st Period:
GOLD (1-0) – Neil (10) (unassisted) (8:34)
GOLD (2-0) – Rob Meehan (2) (assisted by McQuade) (12:24)
GOLD (3-0) – Neil (11) (assisted by Nicki) (13:03)
2nd Period:
UPS (1-3) – Dana Lerner (2) (assisted by Chucky Perks) (4:00)
GOLD (4-1) – Annie (5) (assisted by Reid) (6:36)
UPS (2-4) – Jack (5) (assisted by Kev) (6:46)
3rd Period:
GOLD (5-2) – McQuade (1) (SH) (assisted by Annie) (2:05)
UPS (3-5) – Will Carter (4) (assisted by Dana Lerner) (3:53)
GOLD (6-3) – McQuade (2) (assisted by Vanck) (5:12)
UPS (4-6) – Will Carter (5) (unassisted) (5:54)
GOLD (7-4) – McQuade (3) (assisted by Vanck) (10:21)
GAME NOTES: Another absolute goal bonanza as the GoldMembers, with the help of a certain legendary mauler, put up seven goals en route to a 7-4 victory, even without Corey. UPS was quite kind to let him sub but considering the way he ran circles around and at times through their D en route to a 3rd period hat trick, let’s just say Jack owes the team a few goals after this one.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Dana Lerner (1G, 1A)
2nd – Neil (2G)
1st – McQuade (3G, 1A)
Red Floyd vs SexyBack
1st Period:
RED (1-0) – Carter (10) (assisted by Kevin Aylesworth) (6:13)
2nd Period:
RED (2-0) – Yehuda Silverman (5) (assisted by Carter) (1:47)
RED (3-0) – Nate Lerner (1) (assisted by Carter) (5:00)
RED (4-0) – Yehuda Silverman (6) (unassisted) (9:54)
SEX (1-4) – Sam (3) (assisted by Yehuda Weinbach) (11:41)
RED (5-1) – Yehuda Silverman (7) (assisted by Campbell) (12:49)
RED (6-1) – Carter (11) (assisted by Yehuda Silverman) (13:55)
3rd Period:
RED (7 -1) – Yehuda Silverman (8) (assisted by Dana) (6:47)
RED (8-1) – Yehuda Silverman (9) (assisted by Campbell) (8:04)
GAME NOTES: If teams don’t start scoring less these box scores are going to continue taking an excruciatingly long time to complete. Then again I suppose I shoulder some of the blame for this one for starting Mr Gelman in net, who put up a heroic effort but was in a tough spot against a stacked red team and with blue completely abandoning defense by the middle of the 2nd (probably earlier than that if we’re being honest). 8-1 red in the first annual Yehudabowl as new Yehuda puts up 5 and cements himself as the better one (sorry).
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Sonj (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Carter (2G, 2A)
1st – Yehuda Silverman (5G, 1A)

White Walkers vs My Cup Size Is Stanley
2nd Period:
CUP (1-0) – Jo Robin (5) (assisted by Chris Fullam) (1:31)
CUP (2-0) – Jo Robin (6) (unassisted) (5:36)
3rd Period:
CUP (3-0) – Mikey (2) (unassisted) (11:47)
CUP (4-0) – Minsky (6) (assisted by Manny) (13:30)
GAME NOTES: I was in Nashville negotiating bottle prices and troubleshooting Phelps’ hooker situation at the time of this game but it seems like it went just the way I expected: a fully loaded Cup Size team took a shorthanded White Walker team to the woodshed, but at least bought them a few shots afterwards. Good times on our first ever scheduled one game night.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Mikey (1G)
2nd – Jo Robin (2G)
1st – AJ (W, SO)

Red Floyd vs The GoldMembers
1st Period:
GOLD (1-0) – Annie (6) (assisted by Mike Stern) (8:43)
RED (1-1) – Nate (2) (unassisted) (9:24)
RED (2-1) – Campbell (4) (assisted by Yehuda Silverman) (12:39)
2nd Period:
RED (3-1) – Carter (12) (assisted by Campbell) (1:47)
RED (4-1) – Yehuda Silverman (10) (assisted by Carter) (6:33)
RED (5-1) – Carter (13) (assisted by Campbell) (10:32)
3rd Period:
GOLD (2-5) – Neil (10) (assisted by Nicki) (0:54)
GOLD (3-5) – Annie (7) (PP) (assisted by Neil) (11:37)
GAME NOTES: A very strange game that featured red waiting for a goalie while gold’s starting goalie ran off the rink early in the game, leading to both teams starting without one. Really bizarre and I was happy to be in Florida and not directly dealing with the insanity, although Jenn did call me to apprise me of it. In the end the game ended the way most probably predicted it would – multiple goals for Annie but a tight win for red.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Campbell (2A)
2nd – Annie (2G)
1st – Carter (2G, 1A)
Red Floyd vs White Walkers
1st Period:
RED (1-0) – Yehuda Silverman (11) (assisted by Goose) (2:55)
RED (2-0) – Carter (14) (assisted by Wes) (11:47)
RED (3-0) – Wes (2) (assisted by Carter) (12:30)
RED (4-0) – Yehuda Silverman (12) (assisted by Goose) (13:15)
2nd Period:
RED (5-0) – Campbell (5) (assisted by Carter) (1:55)
RED (6-0) – Yehuda Silverman (13) (assisted by Nate Lerner) (11:39)
3rd Period:
RED (7-0) – Yehuda Silverman (14) (assisted by Campbell) (2:48)
RED (8-0) – Yehuda Silverman (15) (assisted by Tarnow) (4:12)
RED (9-0) – Campbell (6) (assisted by Tarnow) (7:18)
GAME NOTES: This game was not as tight as the previous one as the season of pain rolled on for the White Walkers. I would like to say that the 9-0 score was not indicative of the game itself but I wasn’t even there to give them that cold comfort. Another five goal game for new Yehuda and a close to clinched scoring title for Carter and goalie title for Sonj. Banner season for red.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Sonj (W, SO)
2nd – Campbell (2G, 1A)
1st – Yehuda Silverman (5G)
The GoldMembers vs My Cup Size Is Stanley
1st Period:
CUP (1-0) – Jo Robin (7) (assisted by Chris Fullam) (12:13)
2nd Period:
CUP (2-0) – Minsky (7) (assisted by Jeff Campbell) (5:00)
GOLD (1-2) – Annie (8) (unassisted) (6:00)
3rd Period:
CUP (3-1) – Chris Fullam (4) (unassisted) (11:00)
GOLD (2-3) – Mitch (3) (unassisted) (12:24)
GAME NOTES: Max was back for this one and it was just about as tightly contested as these teams’ first matchup back on July 30 when Cup Size won in a shootout. This one saw them take a 3-1 lead late in the 3rd and then hang on, even when gold cut it with a late goal, en route to a 3-2 regulation win.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Annie (1G)
2nd – Jo Robin (1G)
1st – Chris Fullam (GWG, A)
My Cup Size Is Stanley vs Merry Pranksters
1st Period:
CUP (1-0) – Jo Robin (7) (unassisted) (0:30)
CUP (2-0) – Jeff Campbell (3) (assisted by Minsky) (7:53)
2nd Period:
CUP (3-0) – Minsky (8) (assisted by Jeff Campbell) (0:40)
CUP (1-3) – Jacob (2) (assisted by Robyn) (6:46)
3rd Period:
CUP (4-1) – Minsky (9) (unassisted) (13:50)
GAME NOTES: Black continues their surprise season opening undefeated run with their 6th straight victory over a shorthanded but game Pranksters squad. Minsky actually had an assist with what must be a personal record fourth one of the season. Who knew being on Jenn’s team would teach him how to share the matzah?
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – AJ (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Jeff Campbell (GWG)
1st – Minsky (2G, 1A)
Ninja Turtles vs The Seahorses
1st Period:
SEA (1-0) – Russo (2) (assisted by Scott Metz) (7:07)
SEA (2-0) – James (5) (assisted by Mel) (8:31)
2nd Period:
SEA (3-0) – Sanchick (3) (unassisted) (3:28)
SEA (4-0) – James (6) (assisted by Tom Fitz) (5:13)
SEA (5-0) – James (7) (assisted by Scott Metz) (13:55)
3rd Period:
SEA (6-0) – Brett Marks (1) (assisted by Sanchick) (7:25)
SEA (7-0) – Scott Metz (2) (assisted by James) (9:08)
GAME NOTES: Green was shorthanded and had last minute goalie issues but this was a surprising result even so. The Seahorses continue their late season run with a 4th straight regulation win, escaping the basement and making James’ 2nd round case for next season stronger by the day.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Sanchick (1G, 1A)
2nd – Will (W, SO)
1st – James (3G, 1A)
Merry Pranksters vs Ninja Turtles
1st Period:
PRK (1-0) – Jacob Berkowitz (3) (assisted by Keith) (3:42)

PRK (3-0) – Paul Chester (1) (unassisted) (8:39)
2nd Period:
NJT (1-3) – Alex Rockoff (2) (assisted by Matt Leeb) (0:10)
PRK (4-1) – Sam Gelman (5) (assisted by KG) (12:37)
NJT (2-4) – Alex Rockoff (3) (assisted by Ashwin) (13:25)
3rd Period:
PRK (5-2) – Simon (2) (unassisted) (5:48)
NJT (3-5) – Cherie (1) (PP) (assisted by Matt Leeb) (9:36)
NJT (4-5) – Matt Leeb (7) (assisted by Cherie) (12:02)
PRK (6-4) – KG (EN) (2) (unassisted) (13:48)
GAME NOTES: This was the continuation of a game started in windy, storm-like conditions a few weeks prior. Tie dye had jumped out to a 3-0 lead and although green fought back numerous times, they weren’t quite about to close the gap. They outplayed them on the night, but not on the overall match and a late empty net goal by KG sealed the dub for the Pranksters.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Simon (GWG)
2nd – Matt Leeb (1G, 2A)
1st – Sam Gelman (2G)
