GLAZ (1-1) – Ryan (5) (assisted by Tarnow) (4:50)
MILK (2-1) – The Milkman (3) (assisted by Maddy) (6:29)
MILK (3-1) – The Milkman (4) (assisted by Hicks) (11:10)
2nd Period:
GLAZ (2-3) – Nate (1) (PP) (assisted by Pete) (7:29)
GLAZ (3-3) – Jake Friedman (2) (assisted by Tarnow) (10:06)

3rd Period:
GLAZ (5-3) – Harry (3) (unassisted) (5:36)
GLAZ (6-3) – Ryan (6) (assisted by Nate) (8:35)

GAME NOTES:
A game that was much much closer than the final scoreline indicates, the MilkMob jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the first shift and even led 3-1 going into the first intermission. But while milk and donuts may be a classic dessert pairing, Glazin’ Donuts have historically been the thorn in the Mob’s side and here they stormed back with five unanswered goals to win the first ever dairy bowl 6-3.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – The Milkman (2G)
2nd – Harry (2G)
1st – Ryan (2G, 1A)

BAJA (4-6) – Neil (3) (assisted by Seb) (7:38)
PRK (7-4) – Sam Gelman (5) (EN) (assisted by Adam Satok) (13:02)
BAJA (5-7) – Minsky (4) (assisted by Neil) (13:43)
PRK (8-5) – Maddy (5) (EN) (unassisted) (13:58)

GAME NOTES:
Another insanely high scoring game, as has become recent tradition in D5, as these teams combined for seven goals in the 1st period en route to an 8-5 win for the Pranksters. Baja mounted a comeback late but the pranks were able to hold on and pick up two empty netters, one for Gelman and one for Maddy, both on long hooking shots. All grace to god who in many ways is the original prankster. Very poetic I know.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Minsky (1G, 2A)
2nd – Nick (3A)
1st – Maddy (2G, 1A)

Glazin’ Donuts vs Pinky Toe

GLAZ (4-3) – Ryan (8) (assisted by Mike Agaby) (7:28)
PINK (4-4) – GG (2) (assisted by Jason Reape) (11:19)
PINK (5-4) – GG (3) (assisted by Good Yehuda) (11:42)
GLAZ (5-5) – Tarnow (2) (assisted by Ryan) (13:12)
PINK (6-5) – Good Yehuda (2) (unassisted) (13:52)

GAME NOTES:
Some years you get a great Superbowl, some years (like this one) you get a dud. Similarly, this looked pregame to be a fairly ho-hum Rensbowl that would be a total walk for Donuts. It ended up being unquestionably one of the best games of the season as the teams combined for 11 goals, there was never a lead greater than one goal and there were four goals in the final three minutes. Incredibly, although they were down 4-3 with under three minutes left and, after takig a miraculous late lead, gave up a tying goal with 48 seconds left, Pinky Toe would win in regulation on a goal by the better Yehuda with just eight seconds left. True to their defensive form this season, Sophia still had to make three saves in those final eight seconds but they were able to hang on for an incredible 6-5 win in this seasons Rensbowl.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Ryan (2G, 1A)
2nd – Yehuda Silverman (GWG, A)
1st – GG (2G)

Pinky Toe vs The UMass Football Team

1st Period:
MASS (1-0) – Chucky Perks (2) (assisted by Jo Robin) (7:13)
2nd Period:
MASS (2-0) – Russo (1) (assisted by Brooke Gary) (0:59)
PINK (1-2) – Emma (4) (assisted by Bad Yehuda) (7:14)
PINK (2-2) – Good Yehuda (3) (assisted by Bad Yehuda) (8:51)
3rd Period:
MASS (3-2) – Mike Goose (1) (assisted by Jo Robin) (2:04)
MASS (4-2) – Scott Metz (1) (unassisted) (5:05)
MASS (5-2) – Russo (2) (EN) (unassisted) (12:30)

GAME NOTES:
Pink came into this game riding high after an electric comeback win in Rensbowl and perhaps a bit of a letdown was inevitable. But honestly their effort was solid in this one and it was really AJ who was inevitable, holding a full strength pink offense to only two goals while Russo, Chucky Metz and Goose carried the offense en route to a 5-2 victory. The Russo celly after the empty netter was one for the books.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Goose (GWG)
2nd – AJ (W, 2 GA)
1st – Russo (2G)

The Phantom Pie Pie vs Street Meat

1st Period:
PIE (1-0) – Dan Schwartzman (2) (assisted by Brooke Gary) (1:48)
PIE (2-0) – Craig (7) (assisted by Chris) (3:19)
2nd Period:
PIE (3-0) – Craig (8) (assisted by Andrew Levy) (2:00)
PIE (4-0) – Craig (9) (PP) (assisted by Mike Bedarev) (9:33)
3rd Period:
MEAT (1-4) – Ian (7) (assisted by Cardello) (2:05)
PIE (5-1) – Craig (10) (assisted by Brooke Gary) (9:09)
MEAT (2-5) – James LaPorte (4) (assisted by Mel) (10:41)
PIE (6-2) – Chris (2) (assisted by Brooke Gary) (12:31)

GAME NOTES:
The final game of the evening was a matchup between the top team in the standings, a true defensive powerhouse thus far in orange, and an upstart high scoring yellow team. Unfortunately late scratches to Ariel and Pigozzi put yellow behind the 8 ball and they were never really able to recover. Pie Pie jumped out to a 2-0 lead just three minutes into the game and cruised en route to a 6-2 win that solidifies their hold on 1st in the standings.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Brooke Gary (3A)
2nd – Will (W, 2 GA)
1st – Craig (4G)

The UMass Football Team vs The Phantom Pie Pie

1st Period:

PIE (1-0) – Craig (11) (assisted by Brooke Gary) (8:48)
2nd Period:
PIE (2-0) – Craig (12) (assisted by Chris) (2:00)
PIE (3-0) – Brooke Gary (4) (assisted by Dan Cohen) (10:37)
PIE (4-0) – Dan Cohen (1) (assisted by Craig) (12:28)
3rd Period:
MASS (1-4) – Goose (2) (assisted by Russo) (0:17)
PIE (5-1) – Craig (13) (assisted by Jordan) (1:43)
PIE (6-1) – Andrew (1) (assisted by Caitlin) (4:29)
PIE (7-1) – James D (1) (PP) (unassisted) (11:57)
PIE (8-1) – Brooke Gary (5) (assisted by Andrew) (13:37)

GAME NOTES:
I thought this game would be somewhat close even without Joe Magosin but although UMass was able to keep it close in the 1st period, Pie Pie blew this game open with three goals in the 2nd and then four more in the 3rd to stay undefeated on the season with a dominant 8-1 win over the Minutemen. Brooke also has Rookie of the Year all but locked down, much to Tony and his $50 supermax bet’s dismay. With Craig also the clear frontrunner for the Leetch Award and Will the frontrunner for #1 Goalie, it’s looking like a big awards night for Pie PIe. But can they capture the one trophy that’s thus far eluded the franchise?

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Will (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Brooke Gary (2G)
1st – Craig (4G, 1A)

The UMass Football Team vs Glazin’ Donuts

1st Period:

GLAZ (1-0) – Harry (2) (unassisted) (1:07)
GLAZ (2-0) – Tarnow (3) (assisted by Zuck) (5:33)
GLAZ (3-0) – Harry (3) (assisted by Alex Horton) (8:54)
GLAZ (4-0) – Ryan (9) (unassisted) (9:36)
2nd Period:
GLAZ (5-0) – Jake Friedman (3) (assisted by Zuck) (7:39)
MASS (1-5) – Jo Robin (2) (assisted by Goose) (12:35)
3rd Period:
GLAZ (6-1) – Ryan (10) (assisted by Tarnow) (13:48)

GAME NOTES:
A tough night for UMass as their second game of the evening is only marginally better than the first one. Good news: they only allowed six this time. Bad news: they once again only scored one. Final score: 6-1 Donuts as they bounce back from Tuesday’s shock loss in Rensbowl.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Jeff Green (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Ryan (2G)
1st – Harry (2G)

Bruise Control vs Glazin’ Donuts

2nd Period:
BRC (1-0) – Sean Kittredge (3) (assisted by Dylan Jacob) (1:19)
BRC (2-0) – Mason (1) (assisted by Jesse) (3:15)
GLAZ (1-2) – Tarnow (4) (assisted by Ryan) (7:38)

GAME NOTES:
When we look back on the schedule a month from now this will either go down as one of the most shocking losses of the season or the game purple got its act together. A fairly large underdog entering the game, Bruise Control took a 2-0 lead and then, as is their recipe for success, shelled around Carl and let defense and goaltending lead them to a surprise 2-1 win over the suddenly .500 Donuts.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Mason (GWG)
2nd – Sean Kittredge (1G)
1st – Carl (W, 1 GA)

Sex Ed vs Baja Blast

1st Period:

SEX (1-0) – Mitch (1) (assisted by Jess) (1:54)
BAJA (1-1) – Joel (1) (assisted by Neil) (8:27)
2nd Period:
SEX (2-1) – Maulik (3) (assisted by Alex) (9:18)
3rd Period:
SEX (3-1) – Chad (2) (EN) (unassisted) (13:37)

GAME NOTES:
A valiant effort by green, captained by Joel and with an array of subs in for the Friday night special, as they were within a goal for the entirety of this game save for the final minute when Chad sealed it with an empty netter. If Corey plays as well as he did in his return for the rest of the season, they’ll have a shot to climb out of the play-in bracket. Stronger attendance will hopefully help.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Corey (2 GA)
2nd – Jeff Green (W, 1 GA)
1st – Maulik (GWG)

Bruise Control vs Street Meat

1st Period:

BRC (1-0) – Matt Bramson (3) (unassisted) (11:28)
2nd Period:
MEAT (1-1) – Oskar (1) (unassisted) (7:10)
MEAT (2-1) – Doug (1) (assisted by James LaPorte) (9:50)
BRC (2-2) – Matt Bramson (4) (assisted by Milstein) (13:05)
3rd Period:
BRC (3-2) – Matt Bramson (5) (assisted by Mason) (1:57)
BRC (4-2) – Milstein (1) (assisted by Matt Bramson) (9:10)
BRC (5-2) – Matt Bramson (6) (EN) (unassisted) (13:06)

GAME NOTES:
Purple, riding high off a surprise victory over silver earlier in the evening, keeps the good times rolling with a 5-2 victory over Street Meat on the backs of a four goal explosion by Bramson and another sterling game from Carl in net. I said before the season that purple’s recipe for success was Kittredge/Bramson going supernova and Carl/defense holding down the fort otherwise. Tonight, we saw that formula on full display. If they’re able to continue replicating it for the rest of the season they’re going to be a difficult matchup for any team come playoff time.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Milstein (1G, 1A)
2nd – Carl (W, 2 GA)
1st – Matt Bramson (4G, 1A)
