3rd Period:
MEAT (5-4) – Jack Carroll (2) (assisted by Sarah Hoffman) (4:10)

GAME NOTES:
A crazy Friday night kicked off with the Grassholes season debut and man did it start poorly as they gave up three goals in the first 3:39. But they incredibly stormed back and tied it up before the end of the period, hitting the over in just 14 minutes. From there it turned into an actual hockey game and the difference was Jack Carroll’s 2nd of the game with less than 10 minutes left to give maroon a very slim lead which they would hold onto for their first win of the season…Tommy surprised everyone by coming back from his honeymoon pretty much directly to the rink and then scoring a goal and adding an assist. I think Carlie was in the stands. Either that or Yehuda was creeping on some random long haired brunette. Both are very plausible.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Tommy (1G, 1A)
2nd – Ryann (1G, 2A)
1st – Jack Carroll (2G)

Beatin’ Meat vs Silver Stallions

1st Period:

STA (1-1) – James P (1) (assisted by Luca Vellon) (8:07)
2nd Period:
MEAT (2-1) – Tommy (2) (assisted by Ryan) (2:00)
MEAT (3-1) – Pete (2) (unassisted) (4:06)
MEAT (4-1) – Nick (1) (assisted by Jared) (9:25)
STA (2-4) – Brandon Spreckels (1) (assisted by Karly) (9:59)
STA (3-4) – James P (2) (assisted by Cherie) (11:22)
STA (4-4) – Luca Vellon (1) (assisted by James P) (12:08)
3rd Period:
STA (5-4) – Ken (1) (SH) (unassisted) (1:07)

GAME NOTES:
Another wild back-and-forth affair as maroon jumped out to a 4-1 lead midway through the second, only to see silver score three goals in just over two minutes to tie it up before the 2nd was over. Ken settled it with the ultra-rare shorthanded game winner and the Stallions would hold on for their first victory of the season and their first victory in franchise history.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Luca Vellon (1G, 1A)
2nd – Ken (GWG)
1st – James P (2G, 1A)

The MilkMob vs My Cup Size Is Stanley

1st Period:
MILK (1-0) – Dana (1) (assisted by The Milkman) (4:30)
MILK (2-0) – KG (1) (assisted by Jordan) (6:41)
MILK (3-0) – Dave Zuckerman (1) (assisted by The Milkman) (10:56)
2nd Period:
MILK (4-0) – Rob Meehan (1) (assisted by Jay Travers) (1:22)
CUP (1-4) – Mikey (1) (assisted by Sarah Hoffman) (6:53)
MILK (5-1) – Dana Lerner (2) (assisted by Old Circle Running Yehuda) (8:06)
CUP (2-5) – Isaac (1) (PP) (assisted by Mikey) (12:02)
3rd Period:
CUP (3-5) – Luca Vellon (1) (assisted by New Better Yehuda) (5:35)
MILK (6-3) – Dana Lerner (3) (EN) (assisted by Jordan) (12:51)

GAME NOTES:
Cup Size was slightly favored in this matchup but a torrent of late sharp money came in on the Mob, none more brazen than Mr Meatbox throwing down on MilkMob -2.5 goals and -3 goals, both unheard of wagers for an underdog. And incredibly, for most of the game he had both covered. Unfortunately for him, Cup Size was able to close the gap to two goals late in the 3rd and even a Dana empty netter couldn’t cover the bigger one for him. Still, a huge win for The MilkMob as they quiet a lot of doubters with a very convincing victory over black…Dana joins an incredibly select group of women who have tallied a hat trick in a D5 game. Meg and Annie are the only ones I can confirm for certain. I will have to check the league record books to confirm the rest…only one point for Yehuda though. Clearly didn’t run enough circles.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Rob Meehan (GWG)
2nd – The Milkman (2A)
1st – Dana Lerner (3G)

Talking Reds vs The MilkMob

1st Period:
RED (1-0) – Nate (1) (assisted by Paul Chester) (2:53)
RED (2-0) – Len (1) (assisted by Erik Cortes) (12:48)
2nd Period:
RED (3-0) – Paul Chester (1) (assisted by Ellie Guy) (5:53)
3rd Period:
RED (4-0) – Nate (2) (assisted by Jack Cooley) (7:29)
RED (5-0) – Len (2) (assisted by Mike Tarnow) (12:02)

GAME NOTES:
In the preseason power rankings red came in 4th for one reason: Campbell. Literally every single review of this team featured his return to the net.

Campbell in net in itself should make this squad competitive…”

Campbell back in net, Tarnski returning to full strength and Nate drafted after Yehuda? This is all a recipe for success but ya gotta make a few deposits and I’m not sure who’s doing that.”

The team is horrible but with Campbell in net anything is possible.

Well, those reviews proved incredibly prescient as Campbell has two shutouts in two games as red sits at 2-0. Not only have they allowed zero goals on the season, they’ve got an outside chance to make a run at what might be two of the most unbreakable records in the league: 6 shutouts and 8 total goals allowed in 10 games on the season by EJ Entertainment, possibly the most flat out dominant team in league history. Hey, unbreakable hockey records have been going down lately. Whether they can do it or not will hinge on their dominant goaltender as I am not willing to give Nate any credit for defensive prowess on this hot start. He does deserve some though, as does Len, for getting two goals each in this one with Paul Chester putting up red’s other tally. 5-0 Talking Reds as they take control of 1st place in the standings 18% of the way through the season.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Nate (2G)
2nd – Len (2G)
1st – Campbell (W, SO)
