GAME NOTES: This was the ULTRA rare game where both teams pulled their goalies. Yes, you read that correctly. I recall that happening in Game 6 of the 2013 Cup Finals and honestly can’t remember many similar circumstances. But truly, what an insane game this was as Clappin’ came back from four down entering the 3rd and two down with less than 3 minutes left to win in regulation. And once the comeback was complete, Jack did the Anisimov rifle celly then declared that the rain fall down and wake my dreams and that was it – the rest of the games were immediately rained out and we all went home to think about what we had just witnessed. I went to Vegas 8 hours later and my body, mind and soul haven’t been the same since. Truly breathtaking stuff.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Karly (2G)
2nd – Jack (2G)
1st – Milkman (4G)

Red Cheeks vs The Hart Foundation
1st Period:
HRT (1-0) – San Roman (1) (unassisted) (6:30)
2nd Period:
HRT (2-0) – Mike Stern (4) (assisted by Ryann) (2:00)
RED (1-2) – Luka (3) (PP) (assisted by The Milkman) (10:39)
3rd Period:
HRT (3-1) – Matt Stabel (2) (PP) (assisted by DRo) (2:17)
RED (2-3) – Carter (1) (assisted by Scott Olivierre) (9:14)
GAME NOTES: A tight matchup between two super even teams ends in a tight one goal win with pink barely hanging on and gutting out a win despite being badly shorthanded. I wish I could give you more info on these games but I was in my own world post-Vegas and Jenn was clappin’ cheeks watching the Celtics in Boston. We’ll make due.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Stern (1G)
2nd – Luka (1G)
1st – Matt Stabel (GWG)
The Golden Girls vs Mel’s Power Trip

MPT (1-0) – Dave Liang (2) (unassisted) (1:20)
MPT (2-0) – Mike Sanchick (1) (assisted by Mike Milstein) (4:23)
2nd Period:
MPT (3-0) – Yehuda (1) (assisted by Russo) (12:26)
3rd Period:

MPT (5-1) – Brooke (2) (assisted by Russo) (3:38)
GLD (2-5) – Minsky (4) (assisted by Metz) (7:26)
GAME NOTES: Yellow continued their suffocating defensive ways as only one team has scored more than two goals on them, that being the first place Smurfs with the aid of an empty netter. Every other game has seen them give up two or less and this was no exception. 5-2 Power Trip as they continue their ascent to the top of the standings.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Scott Metz (1G, 1A)
2nd – Russo (2A)
1st – Mike Milstein (1G, 1A)
Red Cheeks vs Mel’s Power Trip
1st Period:
MPT (1-0) – Mike Sanchick (2) (assisted by Dave Liang) (10:01)
MPT (2-0) – Keith (4) (assisted by Nolan) (13:20)
3rd Period:
RED (1-2) – Tarnow (1) (assisted by The Milkman) (0:37)
MPT (3-1) – Adam Rubens (1) (EN) (unassisted) (13:59)
GAME NOTES: This game will forever be notable for what might be the worst gambling beat in league history. A Cardello hammering of next goal scorer at 2-1 was looking to be a push as no goals were scored and just a few seconds remained. No harm, no foul, money back, we all move on with our lives. That is, until a Rubens clear banked off the boards and somehow rolled towards the net. Sophie inexplicably went into a full sprint and a headfirst dive to prevent the goal as if she herself had bet her life savings on Red +1.5. She even threw in a last second stick toss for good measure. None of it mattered. The ball rolled in and the house rejoiced as this somehow surpassed the loss of several thousand dollars on the Nuggets as the worst beat of Cardello’s month. Oh and as for the game itself, yellow just kind of whooped red’s ass even though the score was fairly close.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Mike Sanchick (1G)
2nd – Jeff Green (W, 1 GA)

CLAP (4-4) – Jack (6) (assisted by Pete) (10:28)
Overtime:
DEER (5-4) – Tom Fitz (5) (assisted by Sonj) (2:32)
GAME NOTES: An electric comeback for camo as Tom Fitz caps off a hat trick with an OT winner. Huge coup for Deer +2.5 bettors, Hicks scoring leader prop holders and Deer Live ML +140 ticket holders as Cardello avenged his earlier heartbreak with a good old fashioned chase bet. You love to see it.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Hicks (2A)
2nd – Jack (2G)
1st – Tom Fitz (3G)

Clappin’ Cheeks vs The Smurfs
1st Period:
CLAP (1-0) – James Dizura (3) (unassisted) (4:40)
2nd Period:
SMF (1-1) – Chad (11) (assisted by Sam) (3:50)
SMF (2-1) – Mikey (2) (unassisted) (9:10)
SMF (3-1) – Chad (12) (PP) (assisted by Sam) (10:15)
3rd Period:
CLAP (2-3) – Ryan Levine (4) (assisted by Jack) (9:33)
SMF (4-2) – Chad (13) (PP) (assisted by Sam) (11:35)
GAME NOTES: A possible championship preview and one of the bloodiest games of the season sees the Smurfs come back from an early deficit on the back of three 2nd period goals to take it down 4-2. Cheeks lose two in a row for the first time all season while blue solidifies their hold on 1st in the standings.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Mikey (1G)
2nd – Sam (3A)
1st – Chad (3G)
Merry Pranksters vs Oh, Deer!
1st Period:
DEER (1-0) – Jordan Dickson (2) (unassisted) (5:52)
PRK (1-1) – Tom White (1) (assisted by Sam Gelman) (8:15)
2nd Period:
PRK (2-1) – Sam Gelman (9) (unassisted) (1:30)

3rd Period:
DEER (3-2) – Tom Fitz (6) (unassisted) (2:50)
DEER (4-2) – Hicks (4) (unassisted) (4:58)
GAME NOTES: Some outrageous defensive blunders by tie dye are just too much to overcome as Hicks and Tom capitalize on multiple breakaways that felt like they started from 104th street. The result was a 2nd straight win for camo and Taco Bell for days. Gross. Also Simon would like me to inform you that he is back.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Simon (W, 2 GA)
2nd – Tom Fitz (1G, 1A)
1st – Hicks (2G)
