The GoldMembers (+115)
Ninja Turtles (-160)
Over 6.5 (-120)
Under 6.5 (-120)
Notes: Another season, another Friday spent watching the rain forecast all day, fielding texts from confused players/captains and generally just generally being an amateur meteorologist , involuntarily and with zero pleasure in the enterprise. Sure, gambling on Wimbledon since 7 in the morning every day for the past two weeks offers some modicum of satisfaction but I ask you – at what cost? In any case, both these captains want to play and the forecast has kind of cleared up so maybe this game will happen. But there’s no way I’m spending time going over these games too hard. So let’s just say gold will have a goalie in for Max, probably new rookie goalie Will, and some lady subbing in for Annie, probably KG. Also Corey wants Chad to sub for gold and it appears he will get his wish while Zac (aka artist formerly known as crypto guy) and possibly one other player sub for green. I really can’t write much about a game that I’m not sure will happen so let’s just say I think Turtles will win and I’ll just post some of my favorite songs that I’ve been listening to all week to beef these previews up a bit. This one comes to mind because I was smacking green’s goalie to the tune of $200 in 1v1 Trivial Pursuit with gold’s goalie as the referee/moderator and a trivia question came up about a 90s swing band. While they did not quite reach the heights of fame as Brian Setzor Orchestra or Cherry Poppin’ Daddies because they didn’t have one hit single on the level of Jump Jive & Wail or Zoot Suit Riot, Squirrel Nut Zippers were unquestionably the best of these acts and this is easily my favorite song of theirs. Enjoy.
The Seahorses (+200)
Merry Pranksters (-300)
Over 6.5 (-145)
Under 6.5 (EVEN)
Notes: Both teams struggled mightily in week one and could really use a win here. Otherwise both might be heading for a summer of sadness. You probably already know where this is going – Summertime Sadness, remix only please. A near perfect song. Will never forget playing on an summer league ice hockey team with my brother and this being our locker room anthem after losses. Despite that, I still love it with all my heart.
The Seahorses (+3.0 Goals) (+140)
Red Floyd (-3.0 Goals) (-200)
Over 6.5 (-120)
Under 6.5 (-120)
Notes: Red is just a much better team and without Fitz, Sanchick and Brett, the Seahorses are probably cooked. Also Red is Red Floyd so may as well cite my favorite song by my favorite band, Pink Floyd. Not only is Time sick but a few years ago I leafed through one of my daily planners from college and found that one day, clearly super bored in class, I wrote all the lyrics to this song out. Kinda crazy to find an artifact from yourself, over a decade ago, talking about how a decade would fly by. Life so crazy.

Red Floyd (+110)
Layin’ Pipe (-155)
Over 6.0 (-120)
Under 6.0 (-120)
Notes: This is the most interesting game of the night in my opinion. Red is being rated the same as silver by the public but I think pipe is way better. But supposedly Wes is in tonight so who knows. Both teams are pretty confident about their prospects for the season. As such, easy choice to throw down Carly Simon’s classic anthem about mostly Warren Beatty, one of the great Hollywood ladies men of all time, with uncredited backup vocals by Mick Jagger. See ya tonight (maybe).
