GAME NOTES:
A statement game from camo as they get revenge on Jenn for ordering them green shirts rather than the camo requested to honor the troops (I will continue to call them the camo team for the rest of the season regardless). The 90s legends Hootie & The Doug Fish jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st period and then just kind of went into cruise control for the rest of the game. Black did get some flurries in late in the 3rd to break the shutout and nearly come within two goals but late tallies by Amanda and Max (the second of the game for each) sealed the deal for Big Doug. A 6-1 result as Doug gets a measure of revenge for his father on the week of father’s day. A much more heartwarming story than someone asking someone else to show bobs, although perhaps that depends on who you ask.

GAME NOTES:
The first game of the season for both orange and pink went pretty much the way the betting lines expected: an exceedingly even game between two teams that no one really knew what to expect from. Orange got two goals and two assists from the Jeffries crew but it wasn’t enough to stave off the contributions of team leader Kate Hall, ironmanning in her first game back in D5 in two years and notching a goal and two assists. Chris would score a late goal with 2:03 left to pull orange within one but some highlight reel saves by Sophia left Pie Pie dead yet again. 3-2 pink in a solid opener to the season for both teams.

GAME NOTES:
Another one of those crazy high scoring games that seem commonplace this season and cause me extreme anxiety when I see the scoresheet. For reference, a nice quiet 3-1 game takes approximately 3-4 minutes to enter the box scores and stats. This one took over 20 minutes. Nonetheless, it was an instant classic as the teams combined for 13 goals and Double Teamed came back from a two goal deficit in the 3rd to win their season opener, led by a late natural hat trick from Mel to give her four on the night and the 2nd star of the game. Just kidding. She and her sister combined for four goals and an assist while Ryan chipped in four assists and two penalties. Amazingly on his other team he has nine goals, only one assist and zero penalties. The split personality tandem thing is taking on a life of it’s own. 7-6 dub for the Double Team. GAME NOTES:
This game was fairly tight through 20 minutes before pink began a full out assault on the Pranksters bus that ended with many dead and all the weed gone. Two goals from Adam Herman, a natural hat trick from Nick and contributions up and down the lineup led to a fairly shocking 8-2 blowout win for the Pink Panthers over a tie dye team that had somewhat dominated Shake n’ Bake last week who in turn beat Glatt’s and purple so far this season. Lots of parity to be sure but I also think this pink team is going to be better than expected. Two wins on opening night, more defense than they played all of last season and a 2nd place spot in the league standings. Not bad for a nights work.

GAME NOTES:
The Royal Sampler jumped out to a 1-0 lead late in the 1st period and looked poised to carry that into the intermission but this game completely turned just a minute and a half later when Shake n’ Bake was able to get two goals in 8 seconds right before the break and seize all the momentum. From there, it was just an absolute parade of shots from Minsky, Amit and Pete along with better defense than this team has played in several seasons to stifle the purple attack. To be fair, the Sampler was missing Jo Robin and captain Milstein, but this was one hell of an effort by navy nonetheless. 2nd period goals by Minsky and Mel would seal the win. Don’t look now but they’ve won two in a row, Ryan’s on top of the scoring race and vibes are high in Clapland where the shots from center ice are plentiful as is the gonorrhea. 4-1 Shake n’ Bake.
