COOK (5-4) – Carter (3) (unassisted) (3:52)
GAME NOTES:
A surprisingly high scoring affair to kick off the first Friday night of the season and the league’s official return to the homeland that is Dorrian’s. Purple led by two three separate times but yellow came back each time and forced OT where purple had the better of play and put it away on a breakaway turned crazy boards carom. 5-4 Cookie Monsters.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Jared (2G)
2nd – Ian (3G)
1st – Carter (2G, 1A)
Pinky Promise vs The Dolly Pranksters
1st Period:
PRK (1-0) – Adam Satok (2) (assisted by Anthony) (2:46)
PRK (2-0) – Zach Schwartz (3) (assisted by Sam Gelman) (8:10)
2nd Period:
PINK (1-2) – Adam Herman (2) (assisted by Simon) (11:47)
3rd Period:
PRK (3-1) – Sam Gelman (3) (assisted by Munir) (3:41)
PRK (4-1) – Maddy (1) (EN) (unassisted) (13:30)
GAME NOTES:
This one was not as high scoring and in fact the low scoring slog that was expected with two elite goalies and two historically run-and-gun teams that prioritized defense this time around. But although the teams are somewhat similarly built, tie dye is just stronger all-around and showed it with a 4-1 win that was never really in doubt. Once again, I have to tap the sign that the Pranksters are for real. Once again, I expect them to be ranked bottom three in next spring’s preseason rankings.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Adam Herman (1G)
2nd – Adam Satok (1G)
1st – Sam Gelman (1G, 1A)
Sexcellence vs Revenge of the Pie Pie
1st Period:
SEX (1-0) – Shane (1) (PP) (assisted by Alex) (2:26)
2nd Period:
PIE (1-1) – Mel (1) (assisted by Francis) (2:36)
SEX (2-1) – Bramson (1) (assisted by Brooke) (7:56)
PIE (2-2) – Craig (4) (unassisted) (9:30)
PIE (3-2) – Chris (1) (assisted by James) (11:00)
3rd Period:

PIE (5-2) – Danilo (1) (unassisted) (7:08)
PIE (6-2) – Mel (2) (EN) (unassisted) (12:21)
GAME NOTES:
Without Chad, there was just not much doing in the way of offense for blue. Bramson was given special dispensation to sub but after a fast start orange kind of took over, scoring the last five goals of the game en route to a 6-2 win and dealing blue their first loss of the season.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Mel (2G)
2nd – Chris (GWG)
1st – Craig (2G)
Bruger King vs Red Bunny
1st Period:
KING (1-0) – Everett (2) (assisted by Tony)
KING (2-0) – Glattman (4) (assisted by Everett)
2nd Period:
KING (3-0) – Sam Bodner (2) (assisted by Glattman)
KING (4-0) – Glattman (5) (assisted by Everett)
3rd Period:
RED (1-4) – JLP (1) (assisted by Nate)
RED (2-4) – Amanda (1) (unassisted)
RED (3-4) – JLP (2) (assisted by Tarnow)
KING (5-3) – Everett (3) (assisted by Glattman)
KING (6-3) – Everett (4) (EN) (unassisted)
GAME NOTES:
What looked like it was going to be a silver blowout turned into a real game after three red goals early in the 3rd period close the gap to just one. But a goal by Everett immediately after a timeout and an empty netter to complete the hat trick put the game out of reach. I’m not sure if this silver team is quite as good as the undefeated spring squad, but they’re leagues ahead of last season’s abomination, there’s no doubt about that. 6-3 Bruger King. Still waiting for that Whopper Toss though.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – JLP (2G)
2nd – Glattman (2G, 2A)
1st – Everett (3G, 2A)

2nd Period:

SGT (4-1) – Max (1) (assisted by Lucas) (7:21)
SGT (5-1) – Sarah (1) (assisted by Bramson) (8:50)
SGT (6-1) – Hootie (4) (assisted by Mel) (10:50)

SGT (8-1) – Taylor (1) (assisted by Hootie) (11:28)
SGT (9-1) – Matt Bramson (2) (assisted by Lucas) (13:50)
GAME NOTES:
I’m fairly certain Campbell stopped trying sometime around the end of the 2nd or beginning of the 3rd period as he seemed to be trying to stop some shots via karate kicks. Pretty sure that’s what was happening but the boozing during this game was really inspirational so I could be mistaken. Either way it was a massive blowout for Siwash as they took this one down 9-1. Half the crowd was already en route to Dorrian’s by the final buzzer. A night to remember for everyone except possibly the red defense.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Lucas (1G, 2A)
2nd – Sarah (1G, 1G)
1st – Hootie (2G, 1A)
