My Cup Size Is Stanley vs Bombay’s A Sham

1st Period:
BOM (1-0) – Susie (1) (assisted by Sully)
3rd Period:
CUP (1-1) – Jake Chaplin (2) (assisted by Ben)
CUP (2-1) – Jake Chaplin (3) (unassisted)

GAME NOTES: The first makeup game of the week featured Cup Size getting a major scare before escaping with a win…Susie got her first goal of the season on a sweet cross-ice feed from Sully…Shaun deLacy spent the first ten minutes playing net and gave up zero goals.  Technically, he has the best GAA in the league…free agent Jake Chaplin continued this week’s reign of terror with two third period goals…Dickie was excellent in relief of Zach Lewis, but Jake alone in front on a mini-breakaway would be too much for most non-NHL goalies…Ben Pincus played his first District 5 game, did not bring a stick but managed to borrow one and picked up an assist.  Imagine how good he’ll be with his own stick…Jenn threw her ass around with the gusto of someone who’s ready to go to Ocean City in three weeks…Susie and Hill-Dogg played the entire game and deserve some kind of iron (wo)man award.

Hungry Hippos vs The Varsity Warriors

1st Period:
HIP (1-0) – AFrey (1) (assisted by Hicks)
2nd Period:
HIP (2-0) – Shelly (1) (assisted by Hicks)
HIP  (3-0) – Morgen (4) (assisted by Hicks)
VAR (1-3) – Jake Chaplin (4) (assisted by ScottyK)
VAR (2-3) – Guido (4) (assisted by Julie Katz)
3rd Period:
HIP (4-2) – Luke (3) (assisted by Noelle)
VAR (3-4) – Guido (5) (assisted by Julie Katz)
HIP (5-3) – Shelly (2) (unassisted)

GAME NOTES: The hybrid team of Hippos, free agents and players from the late game held off a Warriors onslaught to deal them only their second regulation loss of the season…AFrey put up a goal in his free agent debut and now has the same amount of goals as a free agent as in this entire BTSH season…Ol’ Pal Morgie put up her fourth goal of the season, tying her for the female goals lead with Cherie.  On the season, she ended up scoring 25% of her team’s goals…Guido put up another two goals and very impressively ends the season at #4 in scoring despite missing the first two games…Hicks put up three assists, vaulting him into the top 10 in scoring.  Maybe he’s the real provider on that team…the Warriors will now have a bye week next week while the Hippos face Team Sexy for the third time this season.

Team Sexy vs The Charging Cheetahs

1st Period:
CHA (1-0) – Mike (1) (unassisted)
2nd Period:
CHA (2-0) – Mike (2) (assisted by Cory)

GAME NOTES: The Cheetahs finished off their incredible undefeated season true to form with a gritty, hard fought 2-0 victory…Campbell picked up his first shutout of the season and finishes with an impressive 1.33 GAA…free agent Mike scored both goals for the Cheetahs…both teams made use of the waiver wire this week, with Team Sexy acquiring the services of Luke, Noelle and Tim Burke while the Cheetahs rolled out ScottyK, Carlin and a couple of Sebastian’s friends…Team Sexy had tons of opportunities in the 2nd and 3rd but could not solve Campbell.  They are now the #4 seed and will face the Hungry Hippos next week, with the winner of that game facing the Cheetahs.
