Purple Parrots vs My Cup Size Is Stanley

1st Period:
PAR (1-0) – Mike Tarnow (2) (assisted by Henry)
2nd Period:
PAR (2-0) – Eitan (1) (assisted by Hogg)
PAR (3-0) – Henry (1) (assisted by Creamy)
PAR (4-0)  Creamy (1) (SH) (assisted by Morgen)
3rd Period:

CUP (2-4) – Joey Bats (1) (assisted by Michelle)
CUP (3-4) – Mike T (1) (assisted by Gene)
PAR (5-3) – Creamy (2) (assisted by LJ)

GAME NOTES: The Parrots finally had their full team come out, and responded with their first victory of the season…the Creamy end of the Creamy/Marko tandem picked up two goals and an assist in his first game of the season, including a rare shorthanded game winner…Cup Size, blanked for their first eight periods, suddenly picked it up in the third with three quick goals by Cherie, Joey and Mike T the sub.  Sadly, their rally came up just short…with the win, the Parrots move up to 6th place and they can move up to 5th with a victory over Ball That next week.  Cup Size, meanwhile, drops to 0-3 but actually move up in the standings due to the Warriors losing by more goals.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME

2nd – LJ (1A)
1st – Creamy (2G, 1A, GWG)

Cleveland Browns vs Team Sexy

1st Period:
CLE (1-0) – Ramy (2) (assisted by Liz Boylan)
CLE (2-0) – Guido (1) (assisted by Jake K)
2nd Period:
SEX (1-2) – David Karp (1) (assisted by Tony)
SEX (2-2) – Scott Metz (1) (assisted by Hill-Dawg)
3rd Period:
SEX (3-2) – Mike Marian (2) (assisted by David Karp)

GAME NOTES: Two of the top teams in the league standings faced off in the game of the night…Ramy opened the scoring on a breakaway where he somehow got the ball through three players on the other team (EDIT: apparently Liz was the one who pushed the ball through, therefore Ramy deserves no credit)…The Browns went into the intermission with a two goals, but would become only the second team to give up a two goal lead.  Last season the eventual champion Warriors blew two goals twice, once to Cup Size and once to the Cheetahs…Scott Metz put up his first goal of the season on a sweet feed from Hill-Dawg…with less than five minutes left, Mike Marian, who had previously hit the crossbar in the second period, buried a backhander far-side off the post to give Team Sexy a 3-2 lead…Barch made a number of highlight reel saves, as did Tim K.  The over/under of six was the lowest in league history, and Rich got the wrong end of betting the over…with the win, Team Sexy moves up to 3rd in the standings.  They will face the Varsity Warriors for the second time this season after beating them 7-1 in the season opener.  Meanwhile, the Browns will travel to Hippo Arena (also sometimes referred to as The Hippound) where Hicks will look to get revenge for all the things Rich said about his team during the draft.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME

GAME NOTES: The Hippos, coming off an emotional victory in the Fireball Bowl, took it to Ball That who were severely shorthanded…Jeff, Miles and Will all missed the game, leaving Ball That without most of their top two lines…Sweet Baby James opened the scoring on his first shift with an end to end rush that culminated in a backhand goal…Marcella picked up two goals while Roberts is now the leading scorer thus far this season…the game was called with five minutes left due to injury timeout.  Feel better Pete!
