Week 9 Betting Lines (Summer/Fall 2021)

Green Street Hooligans (-145)
My Cup Size Is Stanley (+105)
Over 7.0 (-120)

Under 7.0 (-120)

Notes: Charlotte continues to have the worst luck imaginable in one day BTSH tournaments as almost four years to the day after Showtime broke her foot in the spitefully named Walker Tournament, she broke her finger last week which will probably keep her out for a month or so. This injury was apparently more contagious than COVID itself as the Hooligans do not have a single rostered lady showing up for this game (it’s either that or they’ve organized a strike because I never write about them). In their stead green will be using the services of Mel, a lady to be named later and Sena flying in across the country into LGA at 5:20 and coming directly to the rink to save Probert’s ass (photos of which can be found all over the D5 Facebook page). Cup Size will have Jenn, Ryann and Nicole but will need two guys; Dan Burns is in before he flees the city for greener pastures as is Lee who is only playing because he’s got nothing better to do tonight. The Hooligans have been a top team all season but after the Royals upset victory over Barrel last week (a win which caused every game since to be postponed), they’ve been bumped out of the top 3 and now sit in 4th place on tiebreakers. This game will either be a huge bounceback which could lift them back into the top 3 or, should they lose in regulation, a massive red flag as to their championship aspirations. I see this one being closer than people may expect but against a shorthanded Cup Size Squad, green should have enough firepower to squeeze out a win.

BONUS LINES:
Most Points In Tonight’s Game

Probert + AK (-155)
Neil + Jeff + Burns (+115)

Will Game Go To OT?
Yes (+300)
No (-500)

The Barrel (-160)
Hungry Hippos (+120)
Over 7.0 (-145)

Under 7.0 (+105)

Notes: Unlike basically every other team tonight The Barrel will be rocking a mostly full lineup this evening. This has caused Jack to be, shall we say…confident about their prospects this evening.

Hicks is no doubt reading this and mentally pounding on Jack like a schoolyard bully but he may need to borrow Jack’s goalie equipment to sub for Math in goal Sunday and he won’t even be here tonight. In the absence of the box family Cheeky, Jason and Dave Liang will really have to step up their scoring and step down their backchecking. Max will be subbing in for the Hippos as Jeff continues his European van sex romp but otherwise yellow should have most of their players in too. Yellow vs Purple is historically an exciting matchup but with The Barrel rocking a full lineup and the Hippos missing Hicks & Sarah, this shapes up to be a somewhat lopsided matchup. There is a path to victory for yellow if they can rattle sub goalie Cam (playing his 1st D5 game) but it is a narrow one indeed. Hammer the over.

BONUS LINES:
Most Points In Tonight’s Game
Derek + Jack (-145)
Top 3 Hippos Scorers (+105)

Will Game Go To OT?
Yes (+300)
No (-500)

Orange Royals (EVEN)
The Goaldiggers (-140)
Over 7.0 (-105)

Under 7.0 (-135)

Notes: The Royals have now won 4 of 5 games since trading for Cherie & Wagner, capped off by last week’s massive upset victory over the 1st place Barrel who had until then not lost in regulation the entire season. The Royals are the hottest team in the league right now with Sean “Misheard Nickname” Gavin bolstering his rookie of the year odds from +5000 to +4000 and Cherie driving in from the Poconos just for this game. The Goaldiggers, on the other hand, looked good in early season action but somehow only ended up playing one game in the entire month of September. They’ve played less than half as many games as The Barrel and once again only have 3 guys showing up for tonight’s game. No wonder league insider Sylvester Cacciatore ranked them all the way down at #6 in the unofficial league power rankings despite them being 3rd in points per game.

Controversial rankings to be sure but if there’s anything I know about Sylvester it’s that his name is probably fake and he loves courting controversy.

Received 3 hours before the draft

So who wins this game? Honestly, no idea. Orange will almost definitely be using the services of the Jackuum in goal while the Goaldiggers wait to see if Yehuda can play on the Sabbath but will def be using the services of Dan Burns and one other guy to be named later. Classic McQuade special: don’t bet, unless you’re McQuade bored on a beach in Hawaii and probably about to phone in a bet against my advice.

BONUS LINES:
Most Points In Tonight’s Game
Guido + Tarnow (-120)
Cherie + Sean + Otis + Malik (-120)

Will Game Go To OT?
Yes (+250)
No (-450)

Frothing Hyenas (+130)
The Sexy Ducks (-175)

Over 8.5 (-110)
Under 8.5 (-130)

Notes: The late game is a rematch of last week’s game which had red leading 4-1 going into the 3rd period and 4-3 with 7:17 left before rain necessitated postponing the remainder of the contest. Red has Metz, Braun, Kev, Lerner, Rys, Andreas and Ashley in from their roster. Dave GDR, who almost never misses games, is a late scratch and as such the Hyenas will probably be using Cam in net. Red will need two girl subs to be named later and also has Riegler’s friend Jack subbing in to give them some legs in what should be a very fast paced matchup, even with Braun promising to drink profusely before his game. Meanwhile the Ducks will be missing their standard half the roster but will feature Meg making her season debut two months after jaw surgery along with Sena subbing for Kelsey and a male sub to be named later jumping in on D. Losing Danilo and Hilary for this one is a brutal blow to the Hyenas chances but they looked much better in their last two games than they have all season. The Ducks have been up-and-down all season due to the nature of their high risk draft strategy but with Meg making her season debut, Sam continuing his record setting rookie of the year campaign and Casca subbing in for Waldman, Sex Ducks should still have enough to win this one. Over/under remains tricky as these are the two teams that have averaged the highest scoring games all season; I’d still take the over but can’t blame anyone for fading an 8.5 over line (except McQuade who should be hammering all these before Sena even lands at LGA).

BONUS LINES:
Most Points In Tonight’s Game
Sam + Meg + AFrey (-160)
Braun + Metz + Kev + Lerner + Rys (+120)

Will Game Go To OT?
Yes (+250)
No (-450)
