MelRose Place vs Green Street Hooligans
1st Period:
MRP (1-0) – Dom (4) (assisted by Ryan Levine) (8:15)
MRP (2-0) – Zach Flynn (1) (assisted by Mel) (9:11)
2nd Period
MRP (3-0) – Ryan Levine (2) (assisted by Dom) (6:20)
MRP (4-0) – Ryan Levine (3) (assisted by Dom) (8:41)
3rd Period:
GSH (1-4) – Amanda (1) (assisted by Sean Kittridge) (3:30)
GAME NOTES: MelRose pretty much dominated this game start to finish. Annie came in mid-game to help green out and at least helped stop the bleeding, but they needed about 5 more Annies to make this a real game. End result: easy win for yellow, more tough times for Yehuda. Painful.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Max (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Dom (1G, 2A)
1st – Ryan Levine (2G, 1A)
The Lavender Llamas vs Blueberry Bulldogs
1st Period:
BLU (1-0) – Alex (2) (assisted by Gunnar) (3:46)
BLU (2-0) – Wes (7) (PP) (assisted by Alex) (9:49)
2nd Period
BLU (3-0) – Emily (1) (unassisted) (0:54)
BLU (4-0) – Wes (8) (assisted by Steve Rys) (13:00)
GAME NOTES: A game much closer than the final score indicated but two 1st period blue goals and Emily’s first career tally gave Zisser a lead to defend which he did with his first shutout of the season.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Emily (1G)
2nd – Wes (2G)
1st – Zisser (W, SO)
Green Street Hooligans vs Blueberry Bulldogs

3rd Period:
GSH (3-3) – Sean Kittridge (1) (assisted by Aryeh) (12:10)
Shootout Winner By Gil
GAME NOTES: Things looked bleak for green a few weeks ago as they were down 3-1 after one and blue was rolling. However a fortuitous rainstorm postponing the end of that game and Simon being unexpectedly called into action here and going pure Hasek led to him shutting out the Bulldogs despite an insane amount of shots and the Hooligans pulling out an improbable 4-3 shootout win on the back of a Gil shootout winner. At the time this felt like a massive turning point that they could build on. By the time I wrote this….not so sure.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Sean Kittridge (1G, 1A)
2nd – Gil (SOW)
1st – Simon (W)
MelRose Place vs Red Zeppelin
1st Period:
MRP (1-0) – Dom (5) (unassisted) (2:15)
RED (1-1) – Campbell (5) (unassisted) (5:02)
RED (2-1) – Joe (3) (assisted by Tarnow) (13:03)
2nd Period
RED (3-1) – Harrison Hascoe (2) (assisted by Sarah Hoffman) (10:00)
RED (4-1) – Joe (4) (assisted by Tarnow) (12:04)
3rd Period:
RED (5-1) – Nate (3) (assisted by Campbell) (12:03)
GAME NOTES: MelRose opened the scoring early in the 1st but it was all downhill from there. The Zeppelin would score five unanswered, including two from 1st round pick Joe Magosin, en route to a comfortable 5-1 victory that put them back in 1st (albeit temporarily) in the standings.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Corey (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Campbell (1G, 1A)
1st – Joe Magosin (2G)
Hubba Bubba vs Julie’s Football Club
1st Period:
HUB (1-0) – Justin McNeil (2) (assisted by Neil) (3:33)
JFC (1-1) – Jo Robin (5) (assisted by Julie) (12:09)
3rd Period:
JFC (2-1) – Jo Robin (6) (assisted by Dave Liang) (13:39)
GAME NOTES: With about two minutes left in this game Dave Liang max bet on himself to score a goal at massive odds. With about 30 seconds left he had a chance, did not convert and Jo Robin buried it instead to give the Football Club an improbable lead with just 21 seconds left. Everyone on orange went wild…except Dave, who looked like someone had just cancelled Christmas. Priorities, amirite?
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – AJ Frey (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Dave Liang (1A, Bad Bet)
1st – Jo Robin (2G)
Vegas Golden Knights vs Shooting Blancs
1st Period:
VGK (1-0) – Jason Campbell (5) (assisted by Joe Moskowitz) (11:17)
2nd Period
VGK (2-0) – Jason Campbell (6) (assisted by Mike Sanchick) (1:45)
VGK (3-0) – Ellie (2) (assisted by Jason Campbell) (11:58)
3rd Period:
VGK (4-0) – Mike Sanchick (2) (unassisted) (3:50)
VGK (5-0) – Jason Campbell (7) (assisted by Russo) (11:36)
VGK (6-0) – Tom Fitzgerald (2) (unassisted) (12:45)
VGK (7-0) – Jason Reape (1) (assisted by Mike Sanchick) (13:37)
GAME NOTES: Jason Campbell picked up a hat trick in this one along with an assist on Ellie’s goal, although to be fair a Jason Campbell assist is when he takes a shot and it either misses the net or generates a rebound which a teammate scores on. Just wanted to clarify that your eyes didn’t deceive you, he certainly didn’t purposely pass to her, let’s not get crazy here. That said, he continues to climb up the scoring race and make everyone who passed on him in rounds 1 and 2 look very foolish indeed.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Mike Sanchick (1G, 2A)
2nd – Jeff Green (W, SO)
1st – Jason Campbell (3G, 1A)

Blueberry Bulldogs vs MelRose Place
1st Period:
BLU (1-0) – Steve Rys (3) (unassisted) (10:48)
3rd Period:
MRP (1-1) – Ryan Levine (4) (unassisted) (11:37)
Shootout Winner By Cherie
GAME NOTES: The Spector bros subbed for blue while yellow got the services of elite goaltender Matt McCracken. A super tight defensive battle that went to OT and then a shootout where Cherie buried the only goal and the Bulldogs pulled out a hard fought 2-1 win.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Cherie (SOW)
2nd – Steve Rys (1G)
1st – Zisser (W, 1 GA)
Vegas Golden Knights vs Merry Pranksters
2nd Period:
VGK (1-0) – Tom Fitzgerald (3) (assisted by Russo) (1:20)
VGK (2-0) – Jeff Campbell (3) (assisted by Jason Campbell) (2:17)
PRK (1-2) – Sam Gelman (12) (assisted by Derek) (8:58)
PRK (2-2) – KG (1) (assisted by Derek) (10:18)
VGK (3-2) – Jason Campbell (8) (assisted by Joe Moskowitz) (12:58)
3rd Period:
VGK (4-2) – Tom Fitzgerald (4) (assisted by Jeff Campbell) (6:23)
GAME NOTES: Jason Campbell continues his tear through the scoring race but Tom Fitz was the star of this one with two goals and countless awesome plays throughout. The Golden Knights continue to roll with a highly impressive 4-2 victory over the recent public darling Pranksters, proving once and for all that the league sportsbook knows all.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Derek (2A)
2nd – Jason Campbell (1G, 1A)
1st – Tom Fitzgerald (2G)
MelRose Place vs Hubba Bubba
2nd Period:
MRP (1-0) – Zach Flynn (2) (assisted by Scott Storer) (12:11)
3rd Period:
MRP (2-0) – Matt Reape (4) (SH) (assisted by Scott Storer) (2:49)
MRP (3-0) – Zach Flynn (3) (assisted by Matt Reape) (8:42)
GAME NOTES: Pink had their choice of Simon or McCracken for this game and chose Crack. He played great but Simon was just a bit better in this one as he notched his third shutout of the season and led yellow to a 3-0 victory, aided by two Zach Flynn goals and one from Scott Storer that probably went in, but instead he just got two assists for his trouble.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Scott Storer (2A)
2nd – Zach Flynn (2G)
1st – Simon (W, SO)
Hubba Bubba vs The Lavender Llamas
2nd Period
LLA (1-0) – Annie (2) (assisted by Ryan Levine) (3:23)
LLA (2-0) – Michael San Roman (2) (unassisted) (7:41)
3rd Period:
LLA (3-0) – Tracy (1) (PP) (assisted by Annie) (3:15)
LLA (4-0) – Annie (3) (assisted by Mike Tarnow) (3:58)
LLA (5-0) – Annie (4) (assisted by Ryan Levine) (9:47)
LLA (6-0) – Annie (5) (assisted by Ryan Levine) (11:46)
GAME NOTES: A truly electric evening on 96th street as Annie put on a show for the fans in attendance and made all the woman of the world extremely proud, except perhaps for Simon’s wife. She set a career high, a season high for the league and tied the all time league record for goals by a lady in a game with four. Perhaps even more incredibly – at time of publication Simon has played 13 games in goal (easily most in the league) with 8 wins and 3 shutouts. 23% of all the goals he has given up this season (13 games!) were given up in this one game. A truly breathtaking performance, and trust me I am far more discerning with that term than that Hamptons doctor from Seinfeld.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Ryan Levine (3A)
2nd – McCracken (W, SO)
1st – Annie (4G, 1A)

Green Street Hooligans vs Shooting Blancs
1st Period
BLNC (1-0) – Mitch (2) (assisted by Adam Herman) (2:01)
BLNC (2-0) – Sarah Hoffman (1) (assisted by Mitch) (8:15)
BLNC (3-0) – Gabe Silverman (1) (assisted by Adam Herman) (9:14)
BLNC (4-0) – Gabe Silverman (2) (assisted by Cara) (10:18)
BLNC (5-0) – Sarah Hoffman (2) (assisted by Mitch) (12:12)
2nd Period:
BLNC (6-0) – DaRosa (2) (assisted by Cara) (10:18)
3rd Period:
BLNC (7-0) – Christian (1) (assisted by Simon) (5:12)
GSH (1-7) – Gil (3) (assisted by Aryeh Minsky) (8:43)
GAME NOTES: This was one of the most highly anticipated games of the season and to call it a dud would be an insult to duds everywhere (shoutout to Sean Avery). Aided by four goals in less than four minutes late in the opening stanza, the Blancs put this game out of reach and kept their foot on the gas en route to a 7-1 victory that gives Simon the upper hand in this rivalry for now and quite possibly forever…Adam Herman asked me if Christian has the record for the longest time between goals in league history and, well, considering his last one was in Spring 2019, I don’t see how it could really be anyone else. Welcome back you sick bastard.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Jacob Green (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Sarah Hoffman (2G)
1st – Mitch (1G, 2A)
The Lavender Llamas vs Shooting Blancs
3rd Period:
BLNC (1-0) – Christian (2) (assisted by McCauley) (1:44)
LLA (1-1) – Annie (6) (assisted by Ryan Levine) (8:43)
Overtime:
BLNC (1-0) – Cara (4) (unassisted) (1:14)
GAME NOTES: A goalie duel between Jack and Simon and a matchup between two evenly matched teams required extra time to solve. In OT, Cara sniped high glove from an impossible angle, then afterwards when Jack asked her if he left too much room short-side she said it wasn’t too bad for someone who isn’t a real goalie. Jack remains rattled to this day.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Annie (1G)
2nd – Simon (W, 1 GA)
1st – Cara (GWG)
Merry Pranksters vs Green Street Hooligans
1st Period:

PRK (2-0) – Derek (9) (unassisted) (4:29)
2nd Period:
PRK (3-0) – Derek (8) (assisted by Sam Gelman) (1:41)
PRK (4-0) – Manny (4) (assisted by Paul Chester) (3:14)
GSH (1-4) – Gil (4) (unassisted) (10:38)
PRK (5-1) – Pete Slife (2) (assisted by Paul Chester) (13:59)
3rd Period:
PRK (6-1) – Sam Gelman (13) (assisted by Cherie) (1:30)
GSH (2-6) – Emma (1) (unassisted) (2:29)
GSH (3-6) – Emma (2) (unassisted) (6:02)
GSH (4-6) – Aryeh Minsky (2) (assisted by Emma) (10:46)
PRK (7-4) – Chris Fullam (6) (EN) (unassisted) (12:03)
GAME NOTES: With tons of action coming in on the Pranksters pre-game, I really should have moved this line. Unfortunately I didn’t as I felt the Hooligans had a solid chance with a tight lineup and Emma subbing. Boy did we pay the price for that one. Pranksters jumped out to a 4-0 lead just 17 minutes into the game and never looked back. The Hooligans put in a few in the 3rd to make the score look close but the end result was a 7-4 Pranksters win that moves them into 4th place in the standings. And now the championship is tentatively slated for 8/22. Tie dye fans rejoice.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Chris Fullam (2G)
2nd – Derek (2G)
1st – Emma (2G, 1A)
Blueberry Bulldogs vs The Lavender Llamas
1st Period:
BLU (1-0) – Cherie (6) (assisted by Cole) (6:01)
LLA (1-1) – Ryan Levine (1) (assisted by Q Train) (10:01)
BLU (2-1) – Ariel (3) (PP) (assisted by Alex) (12:25)
2nd Period:
BLU (3-1) – Caitlin (1) (assisted by Alex) (12:38)
GAME NOTES: The final game of the evening saw a badly shorthanded lavender squad playing without Sam, Phelps, Pags and Joel (but with Ryan, Rusty and Simon subbing in) take on a somewhat shorthanded blue team playing with 9 players and Ridzik in net. The game was as even as the scoreline would indicate but with each team receiving one power play for too many men on the ice, the difference was special teams. Blue scored on their lone man advantage and added an insurance goal late in the 2nd, then held on in the 3rd for a 3-1 win that clinches top 4 seeding at an absolute minimum and most likely top 2. Lavender, meanwhile, will likely end up being the most stacked team to ever have to play in the play-in round. If their players actually show up for it, watch out.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Ridzik (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Cherie (1G)
1st – Ariel (GWG)
