Big Deke Energy (-180)
Red Eyed Peas (+135)
Notes: Red enter the season with their lowest preseason ranking since Nate took over and with some skepticism about their chances after a strange draft and maybe the softest draft note of all time written by Tarnow.

Naturally this drew much deserved condemnation from pretty much everyone who wasn’t afraid of the outdoors.

Then again Simon can’t really say shit after he for some reason texted me to ask to write previews, then didn’t do anything. What’s more likely – that Tarnow bails on a game because weather is not up to his standard, or that Simon bails on anything and everything? Actually don’t answer that. Anyways, no listed total because I still have no idea who red’s goalie sub will be. Yellow is the better team and should win as long as it’s not Campbell (but there’s a chance it will be in which case the ML will be void).
On Tuesdays We Wear Pink (+145)
Big Deke Energy (-200)
Over 6.5 (-105)
Under 6.5 (-135)
Notes:Â Pink will have Hilary playing the whole game which is good but will not have Jo, Burns or Rockoff in the lineup which is obviously devastating. The defense and Jeff Green will have to do the heavy lifting against a yellow team with a lot of scoring punch and one which will already be warmed up having played a game before. Ridzik is the Big Deke Energy goalie for both games in relief of Corey and while it’s his first season not registering as a full time goalie, he should be able to pick up a win or two tonight. Without three of their top scorers, pink will put up a fight but yellow should prevail.
Jewish Golden Calfs (+130)
Blue Magic (-180)
Over 6.5 (-120)
Under 6.5 (-120)
Notes:Â The teams will have Zisser/Jeff Green in net after Max was a late scratch and Corey sitting out because he is tired after Buffalo. Of course, this is the guy who missed more time with a mysterious hip injury than I will likely miss with a torn ACL so who the hell knows what’s going on. Brett will probably be late for this one, Ellie and someone named Rohan are out and gold should have most of their roster which, once again, I think is pretty good. This game will be closer than people think but I have blue notching a hard fought season opening victory.
Jewish Golden Calfs (-105)
Shooting Blancs (-135)
Over 6.5 (-130)
Under 6.5 (-110)
Notes: The Blancs come into this game with high preseason expectations after landing McGuire, Satok and Storer in the draft. It came at the expense of female depth, however as this is the first season they won’t have Cara. But I don’t think it will matter. Although I am by far the biggest supporter of the Golden Calfs, this is a brutal matchup for them. Jeff Green will do what he can for the Calfs and Zisser will do what he can for the Blancs but in the end I see white rolling to a season opening win.
Blue Magic (-2.0 Goals) (-120)
96th Street Bastards (+2.0 Goals) (-120)
Over 8.5 (-120)
Under 8.5 (-120)
Notes: The #1 team in the preseason power rankings against the #8 team. Ouch. Although blue still won’t have Corey, they’ll get Ellie in for this one. It’s not quite the same, in fact it’s not even particularly close, but they should still be able to roll against a black team that, without Sanchick, will be playing even less defense than usual. Zisser in his 3rd straight game is usually dicey but married life has been great for his hockey career and his health. Blue to win, probably by multiple goals.
Merry Pranksters (+110)
96th Street Bastards (-155)
Over 7.5 (-175)
Under 7.5 (+135)
Notes:Â Tough to make a line for this one as I have no idea who will be in net for the Pranksters. Smart money is on Cam but who the hell knows. What I do know is they won’t have McCauley or KG, meaning their only ladies. will be two D5 rookies, and Danilo is a GTD. Although I think they’ll put up some goals, I don’t think they’ll be able to repel the high powered black attack. Bastards to wrap up the west coast game by picking up their first win of the season.
