GAME NOTES: Pranksters were playing for 2nd place and it looked like they were going to walk to a clinch as Gelman picked up an early hat trick and possibly concussed Cam. But Hart Foundation stormed back on the strength of a Miles hat trick of their own along with two from Stern and one from Ryann to take it 6-3 and definitively get them out of the running for last place.

GAME NOTES: There was a rain delay early in the 2nd period of this one and despite some bizarre protestations by Mel that were never going to work, game was restarted after about 40 minutes. And whatever yellow talked about during that break was possibly catastrophic as they would go on to give up five unanswered goals en route to a 5-0 loss. Some might call it an upset but we had green favored in the original matchup and we did warn you to take the points in this one. Mojo Jojo clinches a spot in the 8/9 matchup while the court completely dried by the end of it. Win/win.

GAME NOTES: A badly shorthanded Golden Girls team actually led 2-1 at the end of the 1st period but pink stormed back on the backs of, once again, Miles, Stern & Ryann. The win clinched the 7 seed for pink, the 10 seed for gold and ensured that they would meet again in the evening’s opening play-in game.

GAME NOTES: A JFC win would clinch the 4 seed so this was a defacto playoff game for them. Meanwhile, Mojo Jojo had nothing to play for except pride and perhaps a trophy for their goalie. Zisser and Corey were the top two goalies in GAA entering this matchup and it was so close that the winning goalie would win the GAA crown with any result EXCEPT a 1-0 win for green. Two goalies matching up in the final game of the season with the GAA crown to the winner has never happened before and it was pretty riveting as green jumped out to a 2-0 lead before orange clawed back and finally tied it on the PP with just 3:01 left in the game. But on the very next shift a Danilo point shot deflected off someone in front to give Mojo Jojo the lead back. Avik would add an empty netter as Jojo heads into the playoffs with some serious mojo….the parity this season is absolutely insane. Mojo Jojo will finish the season in 9th place despite a pretty solid 4-6 record. In fact, besides blue at 8-2 and gold at 2-8, all eight of the other teams were either 6-4, 5-5 or 4-6. Should be an absolutely electric playoffs.

GAME NOTES: The opening playoff matchup of Spring 2024 was a rematch of the 7:40 matchup. And much like that one, gold would have a one goal lead before pink stormed back to win by three. A spirited effort by a violently shorthanded Golden Girls squad but not quite enough for a full strength and highly motivated pink team who will now face Oh Deer in perhaps the marquee matchup of Tuesday’s early slate…I should note that Simon played really well in this one and were it not for him this game could have easily been 8-1. There was no win in the cards for him but the 2nd star seems a fair consolation prize.
