Shootout Winner By The Milkman
GAME NOTES:
A back-and-forth game between a sneaky talented silver team and a white team that just never gives up went to a shootout, where the Milkman made no mistake in burying the winner, then throwing his stick up with such excitement that it smacked him back on the head. Looked painful, but well worth it for the W…Pereira continues his strong rookie pace and in fact now leads the entire league in points. Also just a very handsome gentleman. Love to see it.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Jordan (1G, 1A)
2nd – James Pereira (1G, 2A)
1st – The Milkman (2G)

2nd Period:
RAT (1-0) – Tom Fitz (2) (unassisted) (8:17)
3rd Period:
RAT (2-0) – Tom Fitz (3) (assisted by Ariel) (9:31)
GAME NOTES:
AJ and Jeff Green put on a show in this one and it definitely seems like we’ve been getting some insane goaltending to start the year. I’ll have more info on this in a separate article but the league is averaging 1.5 less goals per game than it was a season ago. I have no idea why as the goalie pool isn’t THAT different, nor is the player pool really, but it’s been a really noticeable shift and honestly quite welcome for me personally as it makes writing these box scores and updating stats significantly easier. Ignore the fact that these box scores are still coming out a few days later than expected – I was in AC for a few days doing god’s work. And by that I mean he clearly likes to gamble on European tennis.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Jeff Green (2 GA)
2nd – Tom Fitz (2G)
1st – AJ (W, SO)
The MilkMob vs The Blue Streakers
1st Period:
BLU (1-0) – Jack (1) (unassisted) (5:41)
MILK (1-1) – The Milkman (2) (unassisted) (12:18)
2nd Period:
BLU (2-1) – Jack (2) (unassisted) (2:07)
3rd Period:
BLU (3-1) – Chad (1) (assisted by Jack Heitner) (5:10)
BLU (4-1) – David Nahon (1) (EN) (unassisted) (13:34)
GAME NOTES:
Blue opens their season with a solid 4-1 win over a very pesky, somewhat underrated MilkMob squad. Sonj had a bunch of big saves in this one as per usual but Zisser was strong in a rare sub appearance and, after two goals by Jack and one from Chad, blue was able to add a late empty netter to seal a 4-1 win.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Zisser (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Chad (1G)
1st – Jack (2G)
The Grassholes vs The Blue Streakers
1st Period:
GRH (1-0) – Stern (2) (assisted by Ryann) (5:16)
BLU (1-1) – Chad (2) (assisted by Colleen) (6:28)
GRH (2-1) – Stern (3) (assisted by Ryann) (10:07)
BLU (2-2) – Jack (3) (assisted by Alex) (13:50)
3rd Period:
GRH (3-2) – Mike Wright (1) (unassisted) (3:27)
GAME NOTES:
Zisser giveth and Zisser taketh away as just a game after backstopping blue to their first win of the season, he also delivers their first loss of the season with an insane performance, particularly in the 3rd period, stopping what felt like 40 shots and demonstrating why, when he was drafted, he was announced as “Oceanside’s Finest.” Green was opportunistic with two 1st period goals from Stern assisted by Ryann and a clutch Mike Wright interception and goal to pick up their first victory of the season.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Mike Wright (GWG)
2nd – Stern (2G)
1st – Zisser (W, 2 GA)

3rd Period:
PIE (6-2) – Simon (2) (assisted by Jo Robin) (2:44)
PIE (7-2) – James Dziwura (3) (unassisted) (8:39)
GAME NOTES:
Tough night at the office for Cup Size as, after a sterling first 17 minutes where they not only hung with but actually led and at times out played the undefeated Team Pie Pie, the wheels came off as they would give up five unanswered goals en route to a 7-2 loss which really is not indicative of how competitive the first 17 minutes were (although it is indicative of how not competitive the last 25 minutes were). The Luca iso cam was electric though.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Steph (2A)
2nd – Matt Bramson (2G)
1st – Simon (2G, 1A)
