2nd Period:
GRH (1-1) – Andrew (2) (assisted by Brooke) (3:17)
GRH (2-1) – Andrew (3) (PP) (assisted by Mitch) (5:18)
RED (2-2) – Nate (8) (assisted by Sarah Hoffman) (8:05)

RED (4-2) – Nate (9) (unassisted) (10:23)
3rd Period:
GRH (3-4) – Jake Kolenberg (6) (assisted by Mitch) (2:40)

GAME NOTES:
With a rowdy crowd of drunk locals trying to bet on the game and kids throwing soccer balls onto the rink mid-game, this was one of the more entertaining games of the season. Red opened the scoring midway through the first before Andrew buried a pair, incredibly only his 2nd and 3rd of the season, to put green ahead. Unfortunately that lead lasted less than three minutes as red put up two goals in 1:30 to retake the lead and even a late goal by Jake and a late push by green wasn’t enough to turn the tide. 4-3 Reds as they clinch the #1 seed heading into the playoffs.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Campbell (1G)
2nd – Andrew (2G)
1st – Nate (2G, 1A)

Team Pie Pie vs Mace Windu

1st Period:
PIE (1-0) – Jacob Berkowitz (4) (assisted by DRo) (13:10)
2nd Period:
PIE (2-0) – Jacob Berkowitz (5) (assisted by Jake Kolenberg) (11:18)
MACE (1-2) – Chris Fullam (7) (assisted by Tom Fitz) (13:23)
3rd Period:
PIE (3-1) – Matt Bramson (6) (assisted by Nicki Dell) (11:53)
PIE (4-1) – Jacob Berkowitz (6) (EN) (unassisted) (12:23)

GAME NOTES:
For some reason the video of this game was completely sideways on Facebook rendering it kinda useless to throw on Youtube. That said, you can still view it on FB and just tilt your computer screen sideways or something…the game itself was one of the biggest of the season as it was a defacto play-in game for 3rd place. And the intensity, especially defensively, matched up to a game of that stature. But just like when these teams met a few weeks ago on a shorthanded Friday, Pie Pie proved to be too much for Mace as the fat orange cat took down the ill-fated jedi. A late Forsberg goal by Bramson put it close to out of reach and a Jacob empty netter to complete his first career hat trick sealed it. 4-1 orange as they lock up 2nd place and a bye to the final four.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Chris Fullam (1G)
2nd – Matt Bramson (1G)
1st – Jacob Berkowitz (3G)

My Cup Size Is Stanley vs Crankin’ Hog

1st Period:

2nd Period:
CUP (2-2) – Lucas (9) (PP) (assisted by James LaPorte) (6:48)
CUP (3-2) – Lucas (10) (unassisted) (11:45)
3rd Period:

HOG (3-3) – Munir (2) (assisted by Ryan Levine) (2:30)
CUP (4-3) – Jared Pollet (5) (assisted by Manny) (8:45)

GAME NOTES:
This game was a rollercoaster of emotion. With Cup Size favored and Hog fielding a patchwork lineup, maroon nonetheless jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Dan Best (with his brother on the other team) got black on the board heading into the 2nd where, just a few minutes in, one of the local kids shut off the light for reasons I will never understand. This required a 20 minute intermission and maybe Cup Size strategized in that intermission and said strategy entailed Jenn foul-baiting like she’s SGA’s spirit animal (ironically she told me the other night she hates how he plays). The Cup Size PP she drew got the game tied up and they would go on to take the game 4-3.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Jared Pollet (GWG)
2nd – Ryan Levine (1G, 1A)
1st – Lucas (2G)

HOG (4-5) – James Dziwura (2) (unassisted) (6:26)
HOG (5-5) – Scott Metz (1) (assisted by Yehuda) (8:55)
Overtime:

HOG (6-5) – Kate Hall (1) (assisted by Ryan) (1:53)

GAME NOTES:
An electric Sunday night special and the final regular season game for Jack and Annie. I expected this game to be a total score-fest, as Hog games generally are, but a 1-0 first period was way tighter than expected. Once the 2nd started, the floodgates opened with a Jack goal off the opening faceoff and nine more to follow. In the end it was Crankin’ Hog ending their season on a high note with three goals in three minutes to overcome a late 5-2 deficit and take it in OT. The win vaults Hog to 7th where they would face the 10th seeded Stallions in the opening round. Blue would finish 5th and take on the winner of the MilkMob/Pizza Rats play-in matchup.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – James Dziwura (2G)
2nd – Ryan Levine (1G, 2A)
1st – Jack (2G, 1A)

MILK (20-0) – The MilkMan (unassisted) (0:20)
MILK (21-0) – The MilkMan (unassisted) (0:21)

GAME NOTES:
With their standings position already secured, Cup Size voluntarily eats the first forfeit in league history, resulting in a 21-0 win for the MilkMob. I like to imagine that the MilkMan buried all these goals, one after the other, one per second in rapid succession, off the opening faceoff and pounding milk the entire time. And so it will be.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Milk
2nd – Mob
1st – MilkMob
