With not a ton of running due to the slick court, the game was scoreless until Jenn’s Bartender broke through midway through the 2nd with her first career D5 goal. A truly electric moment for the NYC bar scene and for Fertilizin’ Egg who would hang on for a 3-1 win aided by a late empty netter from Pete.

The pregame line was blue by two goals and the game went pretty much as expected. A fairly thorough 4-0 win from Team Sex with contributions from up and down the lineup, particularly from the rookies. Love to see it.

GAME NOTES:
The pregame line on this one was Egg by two goals with that side of the line severely juiced (aka favored) and once again this game pretty much went as expected, although red certainly made it interesting by tying the game up midway through the 3rd period. But the potent combo of Ryan and Jenn’s bartender gave yellow the lead with 1:19 left and secured a miracle cover just 24 seconds later with an empty net breakaway to cap off a 3-1 Egg win.

With silver missing their 1st rounder Tom plus 4th rounder Pigozzi, this was going to be an uphill battle. Still, the Stallions put up a strong shorthanded effort and even had the game tied up midway through the 2nd but two goals in less than a minute late from Kate and Cardello broke it open and were the first two of five straight from blue. 7-3 Sex Ed.

This was a much tighter game than the final scoreline would indicate and once the Milkman got his team within a goal with just 4:11 to play, it looked like we might be looking at a possible late rally into OT. But the Ducks immediately responded with two goals in under a minute from 4th rounder Jared Pollet and team captain Sarah who now has more goals in two games this season than any other season in her D5 career. A 5-2 win for the Ducks maintains their undefeated record and their hold on 1st place (at least until Friday).

The west coast game looked like it was shaping up to be a total purple romp as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st period. But the Stallions chipped away and actually had the game tied with under five minutes left, only for 1st rounder Caleb to snipe from the blue line and alternate captain Karly to add a late empty netter. Purple survives with a 5-3 win while silver looks to rebound with a Friday night doubleheader.
