Notes: The Friday night special with both teams of course missing a bunch of players. I don’t know exactly who’s in for red but multiple texts from Nate yesterday asking for precise clarifications of sub policies and regulations do not bode particularly well for their lineup prospects. That said, sometimes having a short lineup isn’t all that bad as both blue and clap can attest to this season. And of course the most important consideration for red is that Campbell is in, he’s playing in goal and he seems to be generally over whatever malady he contracted during his month+ bender which briefly made him look like a normal D5 goalie. God I wish I had played him that week. In any case, with black missing a few players and having played the least games of any team this season, I have to go with everyone’s favorite 90s band-themed hockey team in this one. 4-1 red.

Notes: Both teams rocking short lineups but also apparently a deal was struck whereby pink will get to use both of the Spector Bros tandem and Jenn will get the services of Hicks, who is already on two teams but now gets to return to the franchise he led to a D5 Cup, albeit during Jenn’s playing hiatus. Now he’s back and honestly totally fits the current MO of this black team of talented, slightly older players who don’t really run a ton. Pink, on the other hand, is younger, faster and in many cases dumber (well, one case in particular). But I do think their fresh legs and the goaltending of Sophia should be enough to get them by a similarly shorthanded Cup Size team tonight. Legally Blonde by two.

Notes: The final game of the night and unfortunately for fans of green and fans of good hockey everywhere, I think this one might be a blowout. That’s not to say that I think green is as bad as their record looks or that I put too much faith in this morning’s power rankings in which they placed dead last while orange polled 2nd. But the attendance situation for A$$ has been, truly, ass. They used the 2nd overall pick on the Ryan/Lucas tandem and won’t have either one tonight. Maddy left her stick at the rink the first night of the season and hasn’t come back since. Even Jake has missed more games than usual, although he’s in tonight. His presence will surely help solidify a blueline that’s looked shaky for a lot of the season but against a loaded orange team who can claim the top spot in the standings with a victory, I don’t think it’ll be nearly enough. Pie Pie to take this one something like 7-2 and hold down the top spot in the standings going into the weekend. Meeeeeeee-owwwwww.
