The Phantom Pie Pie (-120)
Glazin’ Donuts (-120)
Over 6.5 (-145)
Under 6.5 (EVEN)
Notes: The opening game of the night is probably the premier matchup of the night as Glazin’ Donuts, widely considered a top three team preseason and doing nothing to dispel that notion in their season opening 5-1 win over UMass, takes on Pie Pie who currently sits atop the standings at 2-0 after 3 and 4 goal victories over green and pink respectively. To be fair, these teams are currently being picked to finish in the play-in bracket but we must consider the distinct possibility that orange is just that good. It’s a matchup between two of the most successful franchises of 2025: orange with three final four appearances and one championship game appearance, silver with two final four appearances, a championship game appearance and a President’s Trophy. I don’t know of any absences on the orange side but I do know silver is once again playing without Pete who, after picking up a girlfriend, no longer shows up to games. You absolutely hate to see it, especially if you max bet silver futures before the season (no, not those). I actually have no idea how this game will go, either in terms of the winner or the total. I might just take one of the bonus bets and call it a day.

Bruise Control (-145)
Over 7.0 (-130)
Under 7.0 (-110)
Notes: The Pranksters become the final D5 team to open their season in the 6:50 game as they take on Bruise Control. Purple was close to unraveling in a 6-2 loss to Glatt’s but showed some admirable guts in beating UMass on Thursday night. This one is fairly even on paper and both teams are equally motivated: purple to prove that Thursday’s effort wasn’t a fluke and tie dye to get off to a hot start in their reboot season. All respect to Carl and Max, but it’s the over for me.

Over 8.0 (-120)
Under 8.0 (-120)
Notes: With green presumably finally icing a full lineup in this one and Ridzik coming off the bench to sub in net, I think this game could be closer than you think. Unfortunately the public is sure to hammer blue and I have no choice but to make this a 3.5 goal spread. Jess’ possible absence complicates things somewhat as well but otherwise I think this is a high scoring game that’s somewhat complicated by Neil’s possible absence. If Neil’s out, 6-1 blue. If he’s in, 5-2 blue.

Merry Pranksters (+2.5 Goals) (EVEN)
Over 8.5 (EVEN)
Under 8.5 (-145)
Notes: The Pranksters, after opening their season earlier in the evening, now face the defending champs in what I’m expecting to be a very high scoring game. Gelman, Nick, Satok and Maddy are going to be a problem for anyone defensively this season but I also fear their defense is going to be beleagured in dealing with a Glatt’s offense that’s much deeper than last year’s version. Max and Cam are going to have to deal with the consequences and in 80ish degree heat to boot. It’s tough to handicap a game involving a team I haven’t seen play and a team that’s really as high variance as it gets depending on attendance and whether they choose to play defense, but I have to give brown the respect their 2-0 record warrants. 7-4 Glatt’s.

Chappell Red (+110)
Street Meat (-155)
Over 8.0 (-120)
Under 8.0 (-120)
Notes: The toughest game to call of the night. Red was up and down throughout their opener, giving up two goals in the first period, then scoring four in a row, then giving up four goals in a row to eventually lose 6-4. Yellow, meanwhile, went with a slightly different strategy which was to just keep scoring goals, early and often, pretty much nonstop en route to a 12-3 opening night win. What’s most likely in these scenarios is that red isn’t quite as defensively careless as they looked last week and yellow isn’t quite as offensively dominant as they looked last week. But Street Meat is still quite talented offensively and I think it’ll continue to show here. 6-5 Meat.

Hockey at Glatt’s (-3.0 Goals) (-110)
Pinky Toe (+3.0 Goals) (-130)
Over 8.5 (-145)
Under 8.5 (EVEN)
Notes: The final game of the night is a championship rematch from last season but considering the vast roster turnover on both sides, it’s a rematch in name only. Pink was graded by most to be a middle of the road team with potential upside for more this season but struggled mightily on Thursday night en route to a blowout loss to orange. They badly need a big rebound game here and the only reason this super late west coast game is happening is a) both teams requested a late slot and b) the weather is nice enough that we won’t be miserable like we were during week one’s late game. Unfortunately, considering the defensive effort I saw last week, Pinky Toe is going to have to come out with a completely different game plan, lineup and possibly an entirely different roster to have a shot at keeping this game tight. GG and Yehuda Silverman will certainly help but I’m not even entirely sure they’re in for this one. Add it all up and this may be another long night for Sophia, everyone’s favorite hostage. If Eric Swalwell is getting booted from Congress, not sure how long Yehuda can keep getting away with this. In any case, I’m predicting another 7-4 Glatt’s result for their final game of the night.
