Baja Blast vs The Phantom Pie Pie
1st Period:
PIE (1-0) – Nolan (1) (assisted by Brooke Gary) (11:13)
2nd Period:
PRP (2-0) – Brooke Gary (1) (assisted by Danilo) (4:57)
3rd Period:
PRP (3-0) – Brooke Gary (2) (EN) (assisted by Campbell) (11:00)
GAME NOTES:
The opening game of the season sees two short handed teams face off as orange (missing their 1st round pick Craig) is able to notch a 3-0 shutout over green (playing without their 2nd and 3rd round picks). A sterling effort by new ROY frontrunner Brooke and by Will in net, returning after a two year hiatus. James’ coworker also looked like a legit player and not just some guy who was in the next cubicle on the day of the draft. Promising news for Pie Pie as they look to continue their streak of never missing a final four in franchise history.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Nolan (GWG)
2nd – Will (W, SO)
1st – Brooke (2G, 1A)

GLAT (3-4) – Alex Merone (1) (assisted by Glattman) (1:40)
GLAT (4-4) – Zuck (1) (assisted by Mel) (3:01)
GLAT (5-4) – Glattman (1) (unassisted) (6:23)
GLAT (6-4) – Everett (2) (assisted by Zuck) (10:18)
GAME NOTES:
What a weird game. Glatt’s comes out hot and jumps out to a 2-0 lead, only to give up four straight goals to red and almost a 5th if Kevin’s Forsberg attempt had landed. Not to be deterred, however, Glatt’s closes out the game with four straight goals of their own to take the season opener 6-4, send their fans home happy on banner night and make the sportsbook look quite brilliant indeed.

THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Kevin (2G)
2nd – Zuck (1G, 2A)
1st – Glattman (1G, 2A)

GAME NOTES:
The season opener for Street Meat is a rousing success as the meatiest team in the league puts up 12 goals, including six from Ian, en route to an outrageous 12-3 opening night win over Baja Blast. Doug stepped in in net but that meaty ass will be back in front of the opposing nets this time next week, don’t you worry.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Ryan (2G, 1A)
2nd – JLP (2G, 1A)
1st – Ian (6G, 1A)

GLAT (5-2) – Glattman (3) (assisted by Everett) (4:30)
GLAT (6-2) – Everett (3) (assisted by Antonio) (10:20)
GAME NOTES:
More of the same in this one as Glatt’s puts up six goals again, taking control early and never letting up. Three points each from their big two while ROY contender Antonio gets on the board with two assists and a bunch of chirps that the purple bench really did not seem to enjoy. Good times had by all (well, except purple).
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Antonio (2A)
2nd – Everett (1G, 2A)
1st – Glattman (2G, 1A)
Glazin’ Donuts vs The UMass Football Team
1st Period:
GLAZ (1-0) – Ryan (1) (assisted by Tommy) (6:33)
2nd Period:
GLAZ (2-0) – Ryan (2) (assisted by Harry) (6:33)
GLAZ (3-0) – Ryan (3) (assisted by Yehuda) (6:33)
3rd Period:

MASS (1-4) – Amanda (1) (assisted by Tyler Hines) (6:33)
GLAZ (5-1) – Ryan (4) (assisted by Steph) (6:33)
GAME NOTES:
The final game of the night, played in winter-like temperatures even though the calendar ostensibly told us it was April, was pretty much a two man show for silver: Ryan supplying the offense with a four goal performance to open the season and Jeff Green supplying a bunch of massive saves, including several on uncontested Joe Magosin breakaways. The game itself was a lot more even than this scoreline would indicate but that’s little solace for fans and bettors of the Minutemen. 5-1 Donuts as they start the season with a serious glazing. Gross.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Jake Friedman (1G)
2nd – Jeff Green (W, 1GA)
1st – Ryan (4G)
The MilkMob vs Sex Ed
1st Period:
SEX (1-0) – Chad (1) (assisted by Maulik Shah) (13:59)
2nd Period:
SEX (2-0) – Jackson (1) (assisted by Jess) (13:00)
3rd Period:
SEX (3-0) – Mikey (1) (assisted by Chad) (5:03)
SEX (4-0) – Cardello (1) (unassisted) (7:10)
MILK (1-4) – The Milkman (1) (assisted by Andrew Gates) (8:50)
GAME NOTES:
Both teams were missing top dmen for their season openers as MilkMob had to go without Caleb while blue went without Amit. Blue filled the gaps with Jared and Cardello forming the 2nd D pair while the MilkMob threw two ladies who didn’t have much defensive experience straight into the fire. Both they and Sophia did some quality work but it wasn’t quite enough to prevent a 4-1 victory for blue.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – AJ (W, 1 GA)
2nd – Jackson (GWG)
1st – Chad (1G, 1A)
The UMass Football Team vs Bruise Control
1st Period:
BRC (1-0) – Sanchick (1) (assisted by Matt Bramson) (4:00)
BRC (2-0) – Max (1) (assisted by Murad) (9:20)
MASS (1-2) – Chucky Perks (1) (assisted by Joe Magosin) (13:00)
2nd Period:
MASS (2-2) – Joe Magosin (1) (assisted by Cardello) (1:15)
3rd Period:
BRC (3-2) – Matt Bramson (1) (unassisted) (9:30)
GAME NOTES:
UMass came into this game missing half their lineup but had enough subs and such that they were slightly favored for the win. Purple was missing a few players, including captain Milstein and front office member Rose, but most still felt that they were the underdogs in this one. And yet, behind a sterling effort in net from Carl and a clutch late goal from Bramson, plus some quality shot blocking and overall defensive work in the final minute, Bruise Control was able to hang on and rebound from a tough opening night loss for a gutsy 3-2 win in this one. Bramson taking over the captaincy from Milstein? We’ll see.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Joe Magosin (1G, 1A)
2nd – Carl (W, 2 GA)
1st – Matt Bramson (GWG, A)

PIE (1-0) – Craig (1) (assisted by Chris) (1:54)
PIE (2-0) – Craig (2) (assisted by James Dziwura) (4:59)
PIE (3-0) – James LaPorte (1) (assisted by James Dziwura) (9:30)
PIE (4-0) – James LaPorte (1) (assisted by Craig) (10:02)
3rd Period:
PIE (5-0) –Craig (3) (assisted by James LaPorte) (5:00)
PINK (1-5) – APK (1) (PP) (assisted by Liam) (11:12)
PIE (6-1) – Brooke Gary (3) (PP) (assisted by James LaPorte) (12:47)
PINK (2-6) – Annabel (1) (unassisted) (13:56)
GAME NOTES:
The final game of the night was expected to be a tight one as absences on both sides were fairly even and both teams were graded similarly by both power rankers and in the preseason betting lines. Instead, this was an absolute thrashing by orange as, after a scoreless 1st period, the floodgates opened early in the 2nd period and never really closed. Sophia probably made close to 40 saves but the life of a goalie is often cold and unforgiving. 6-2 Pie Pie as they move up to 1st place in the standings heading into Week 3.
THREE STARS OF THE GAME:
3rd – Travis (W, 2 GA)
2nd – JLP (2G, 2A)
1st – Craig (3G, 1A)
