Chosen 1s (-140)
The Charging Cheetahs (EVEN)
Over 6 (-120)
Under 6 (-120)
The Pick: After what feels like a month off from hockey because it seems to rain every time we head up to 96th street, D5 hockey picks back up as the Chosen 1s travel to Cheetahs Coliseum. The Cheetahs have been stingy on D this season, allowing just eight goals this season (the nine GA on the standings includes one for a shootout loss), but also are tied for last in goals per game. They’ll need to find a way to bury more balls in nets if they’re going to get by the orange team; having Pags in as a sub will certainly help. Unfortunately the Chosen 1s are rolling, having just pulled out an upset victory over Cup Size, and while Rich’s presence on the court may help the Cheetahs, his presence on the bench with his hockey autism and screams of “cover James” will surely help his teams. Chosen 1s in a squeaker.
My Cup Size Is Stanley (-130)
Winter Is Coming (-110)
Over 5.5 (-130)
Under 5.5 (-110)
The Pick: The annual commissioners bowl sees Jenn bring her army of the dead (note: not a reference to her breasts) up to Winterfell. Both teams will be suffering major personnel losses, as Jenn will be without Gabe and Gene while the blue team will be without the services of Luke, Josh, Jeremy, Nico, Susie and goalie Zisser, currently experimenting with all sorts of fun stuff in Amsterdam. Mike T and Neil from the Demons will be subbing for the black team while the blue team will ask Olivier, Cheeky, Courtney and Tim Burke to help mend the holes left on the back end (a job Ziss is normally quite adept at). While fans are no doubt disappointed to miss out on the annual Gabe/Luke showdown, this still projects to be a tight matchup with both teams looking to minimize mistakes and play airtight D in front of their netminders. Take the under.
Chosen 1s (+105)
Goonies (-145)
Over 6 (-135)
Under 6 (-105)
The Pick: The Chosen 1s will play their second game of the night as they travel to face the first place Goonies. The Goonies have been on a roll this season, with a goal differential of 13 indicating that they’ve won their four games by an average margin of over 3 goals. It remains to be seen how Rich will choose to cover their assortment of talent up and down the lineup. Last time these two teams met the Goonies prevailed by a 5-2 margin that was not quite as lopsided as it looked. The fact that orange will be playing their second game of the day could be an advantage for either side: will they be extra fatigued, or extra warmed up? Whatever the case, the balance of probability lies with the Goonies continuing to roll and taking this game in regulation.
Rainy Day Kids Club (+105)
Hungry Hippos (-145)
Over 6 (-105)
Under 6 (-135)
The Pick: The Hippos, weather permitting, will look to play their first game since March 26 tonight although obviously the forecast calls for a chance of rain around the time that this game should be wrapping up. Both teams have had a tough go of it this season, with the Hippos winning one and losing two while the Kids Club looks for its first win of the season. The major storyline here is that while the Kids Club is reportedly ecstatic that their captain beat the odds and survived his trip to the Final Four last week, he apparently could not survive his Monday night soccer game and is getting x-rays at 2:00 on what could be the first major injury of the 2019 ball hockey season. Ariel will also be out for the Hippos, but without Probie, the Kids Club is going to have a tough time getting on the board. Most will be pulling for them to make it rain, but it appears this will be another victory for Captain Hippo Meatbox. Hippos 3-1.
