Julie’s Football Club (-300)
The Mighty Mensches (+200)
Over 6.5 (-110)
Under 6.5 (-130)
Notes: Short capsule-esque previews for tonight because who the hell knows if these games are even going to happen. The Mensches will have Corey, Chad (Corey’s brother), their rando friend who is in town to get hammered, Rose and Zach Fein subbing in this one. Jeff Green was supposed to sub in net but somehow bailed last minute so Ridzik will get the call for the Mensches. JFC will have most of their normal lineup in tow, minus I think Kev but with Cara subbing in for Tash and Zisser in for AJ. Also possibly Tarnow or Gelman subbing in on D, not totally sure. There have been a frankly shocking amount of complaints about subs coming from a top ranked team playing against the last place team but lucky for me, I don’t care. Should be a good game but JFC should still pick up the W. Also we have guest commentary from Simon on each game tonight.
Simon’s Notes: i heard cara is subbing for tash. this’ll be a trashing by JFC.
The Mighty Mensches (+160)
Red Zeppelin (-225)
Over 6.5 (-135)
Under 6.5 (-105)
Notes: All the Mensch’s subs from the earlier game are unable to stay for the second except for Rose and Ridzik. KG and league leading scorer Sam Gelman will probably find their way in the lineup for the Mensches here and red still doesn’t have a goalie at the time of this writing. Will probably be Dave GDR but I’m currently waiting to see if they already asked someone. Either way, I think the combination of Magosin/Tarnow/Lerner/Colleen should be too much for the Mensch crew to handle, even with the Weaver bros out of action. Give me the Zeppelin moneyline even with the juice.
Simon’s Notes: after red getting demolished in their last game, i think the mensches can pull an upset here (editors note: he wrote this before seeing any sub arrangements)
Hungry Hippos 2.0 (-120)
Blueberry Bulldogs (-120)
Over 6.5 (-135)
Under 6.5 (-105)
Notes: The Bad Boy Motors Pirate Bowl is on but with some notable absences The Hippos won’t have either of their Jacks (Cooley or McGinty) while blue won’t have Rys, Cole, Richard or Emily and will have to play a bit short on a Friday night just like last season’s bowl game. That one ended 4-3 in OT for the Hippos. I see this being a similarly close game but have no idea who to bet on…might take the over though. Also only in this league would a bowl game between the 1st place team in the standings and the last undefeated team left be passed over for game of the night in favor of a grudge match between Simon and Yehuda just because they’ve been talking shit to each other on Facebook and in D5 email threads. Never change, league, never change.
Simon’s Notes: this has the potential to be a hockey game. Its a toss up, blue wins by 4 goals. (editors note: this feels like a massive troll on Hicks, aka “el bitcho bozo.”
Shooting Blancs (EVEN)
Hungry Hippos 2.0 (-145)
Over 6.5 (-130)
Under 6.5 (-110)
Notes: As you may have noticed if you read this website (which I must assume you do if you are reading this right now), Simon has been calling Hicks “el bitcho bozo” this week which is really not a great move against someone who regularly takes steroids. Hicks generally is pretty lax about Friday night games but I have a feeling he is going to want to take it to the Blancs. It won’t be easy without Jacks and with white having a full lineup but I think the Hippos have just enough to take this down in what would appear to be Amit’s swan song before he departs to DC.
Simon’s Notes: hippos cant content the deepness of white, white to win with few snipes on Cam.
Green Street Hooligans (+150)
Shooting Blancs (-200)
Over 6.5 (-130)
Under 6.5 (-110)
Notes: The grudge match that everyone has asked for goes down. Unfortunately Jacob Geskin, the Hooligans’ goalie, is out for this one matchup against his buddy Gabe Silverman as he has a show tonight. Dave GDR gets the call to go from the blueline to between the pipes. Also Amanda told me she was out for this one but green hasn’t asked for a girl sub so who knows what’s going on. Either way, assuming this game happens, I’m picking the Blancs to grind this one out and get back on track after two tough losses.
Simon’s Notes: tbh i think yehuda’s team can win this. To be even more honest i dont think Yehuda can motivate his team enough to win this. White to win.
