Notes: This was the marquee game on the schedule with the 6-1 blue team taking on the undefeated Glatt’s but some key absences on both sides have unfortunately taken some of the shine off this matchup. Jess is out for blue along with their standard goalie sub Jeff Green and a host of their depth, including Fall 2023 championship winning goal scorer Brett Marks who has yet to make a game this season (as is tradition). Doug is skipping a date to fill in tonight and Mel will get the call for blue as well but Chad’s a GTD and overall I really don’t know what to expect. Meanwhile Glatt’s is rocking a short lineup themselves although that generally helps them far more than it hurts them. Zuck is apparently moving today but something tells me he’ll find a way to make it in for this one. Still, its a strange matchup tonight. If these teams meet in the playoffs I’d expect another instant-classic like last year’s double OT. For tonight though, with shaky lineups on a Friday night…I’m expecting goals. Over by a mile.

Notes: The night of rotating goalies continues as Geskin gets the call to make his D5 return in this one for blue while Cam gets the start for the Pranksters. They’ll also have Ariel subbing as he looks to rehab from an early season knee injury scare while Mel’s dreams continue to come true as she gets to play her second consecutive game for her favorite team. Otherwise this is a rematch from a couple of weeks ago when the Pranksters handed Sex Ed their only loss of the season, a tight playoff-like 5-3 decision that appears to have clinched top five seeding for the Pranks. In fact, the standings are somewhat amazing as no one can move into the top five even though like 20% of the schedule is yet to be played. These teams meanwhile are basically locked into seeds 3-5 along with purple but the exact order is completely undetermined. The Friday night special is a total shitshow and honestly I have no idea what to think about this game I think like most of the slate tonight it’s going to be a high scoring type of situation with probably not that much defense being played. Once again, take the over with extreme prejudice.

Notes: Tonight marks games 2 and 3 of a best of 3 series between these franchises that both requested before the season. Unfortunately, the MilkMob roster for tonight is apparently eviscerated by some type of farm-borne disease. What makes it even tougher is the only reason they have two games tonight and not just one is that on the second night of the season red asked them to reschedule the game and the Mob, feeling extra generous, said yes despite having a solid roster for that one. Now they’re playing on a night when they have almost no one. They did get approval for Nick and Meehan to sub but had to give red Gelman. It’s going to be largely up to Sonj and Papa Joe to keep white competitive in this one. They’re certainly good enough to do it, but tonight it’s going to be a very tall task. Red to win.

Notes: With pinks roster absolutely decimated tonight I have to install green as the favorite for the first time this season despite their own roster having a ton of absences as well. Still, with most of their front office in along with Joel and Mel, and pink having approximately three rostered players in as of the time of publication, I have to give them the distinct edge. Of course, the calculus changes if Tony, everyone’s favorite Rookie Of The Year frontrunner hopeful Brooke Gary hater subs in for pink. Our terms are extremely reasonable.

The final game of the evening. It’s been a tough season for the Mob but if they can pull this one out and maintain their hold on the Dairy Cup (or whatever it is they call that trophy Campbell bought), they’ll consider it a success while also guranteeing they’re out of the play-in bracket. Why has this season been so difficult for them? Did something happen during the draft that made team construction extra challenging? Let’s just say I have my theories.
