Notes: A total shitshow of a night with most teams playing unbelievably short. Green has Ashkon, Dave, Aryeh, Tommy, Mike and maybe Gil in with Jacob in net and Amanda wearing the C tonight in what seems like a cool promotion for her but in actuality is a cruel cosmic joke on her. I have no idea who’s in for Vegas because Joe’s been battling a crippling gambling addition and can’t tear himself away from the craps pit at the Wynn but they do have Simon in net and a post-happy hour Ellie iron-manning this game and backchecking like she’s Andrei Kostitsyn (seriously, that dude is her spirit animal). It is not looking good for either team but as it’s been for much of the season, it’s definitely looking worse for green. Vegas to win, Amanda to cry. That’s a win/win for me.
UPDATE: Simon informs me that was Sergei Kostitsyn, not Andrei, and that’s the inspiration for him wearing #74. Yes, Simon saw that play and was like “I must emulate this man for the rest of my days.”

Notes: Well, it’s been approximately 30 seconds since I wrote the last preview (preview being a very loose term for me describing the chaos that is about to unfold this evening) and I still have no idea who the fuck is playing for Vegas. For blue I at least know that I will be there along with Wes, Ariel, Cherie, Avik, Emily…you know what, that’s already like 3x as many people as I know are playing for Vegas so I’m definitely favoring blue. I’m not really sure what else to write. Here’s my thoughts on why I think we probably live in a simulation.

Notes: The Hippos lead this game 4-1 with 11:50 remaining in the 2nd period. They have Hicks Oberg, Satok, Nolan, Nestor, Carly and possibly another sub or two TBD. Meanwhile Simon raided the sub cabinet and has Riegler and Rys along with himself, Cara, McCauley, Jake and Eli and Dave GDR in net. It’s a solid lineup to be sure but is it enough to overcome a 4-1 deficit to what seems like a clearly superior black team (for reference, every single power ranker last week ranked the Hippos over the Blancs)? I think white will make this a game but I don’t see them pulling out of a 4-1 hole even though the Hippos have incredibly given up 19 goals in their last three games. Hippos to hang on and clinch top half seeding going into the playoffs. Satok also only needs four points (or two goals and one assist) to pass Gelman and take pole position for his first career scoring title.
